- Before the flashback starts, Dev calls Pawnis mom. A woman picks up and says Shikha wont speak with anyone. Pawni wonders why.
- Dev then starts on the flashback-------Dev was running one day and ran into Pawnis mom (Dev is show younger and its a completley diff actor playing the young version ..which is funny! Because Pawnis mother is shown the same younger and older version. Its Anita Kulkarni)
- Pawnis mom tells Dev to focus on running. They apparently meet in Simla for some kind of competition. When Shikha calls home Dadiji comes on the line and basically taunts her and in mute she is saying something to Shikha.
- Shikha comes out and meets her fellow runners and coach. The coaches pick two boys and two girls for some kind of race. Dev is not chosen because his timing is slow. Two other boys, Shikha and another girl are chosen. Shikha backs out saying that there was a problem at home and she cant come. The coach says its unfortuante as she is a very great runner. Shikha says to let Dev go, she has seen him run and he is good.
- Shikha boards a bus to go back to Palampur and Dev meets her. He asks why she gave his name. They never met before today and she has never seen him run before. She tells him to focus and do his best in the race and she knows he will run well, and Dev tells her he will do his best because of her he can even race.
- Back at Shikhas home one day, Dev calls because he won his first gold medal at that race and wanted to share his happiness with Shikha. Only, Buaji picks up and her and dadiji jump to conclusions about their relationship.
- One day Dev arrives in Palampur to meet Shikha. He is sitting near a lake and throwing rocks, thinking about how to meet her and thank her and share his happiness with her. Especially because if it wasnt for her suggesting his name to run in that race, he would have never gotten the gold.
- He notices a girl running at top of the cliff and catches her. Its Shikha. Shikha tells him that her family has told her that she has to quit racing or she will be kicked out of her house and Pawni will be taken from her. Thats why she wants to just give up her life.
- Dev assures her that nothing like that will happen. She will race, and Pawni wont be taken from her.
- Back to reality from the flashback and Dev tells Pawni that , that was part of the truth. The rest of the truth she will get in Mumbai. Their train or bus leaves in a few. Now she has to decide.
