@Kavs: Dodo turning into the erstwhile Mayank? LOL, he is way too dimwitted to ever aim for that sort of a label. But yes, talking of character variations, one variation I am happy with is Dia who seems quite sweet nowadays. Nupur always had a streak of filmy going on absurdity about her but the locket thing has pushed it a bit far. How could she expect him to wear that thing? Avowals of love kept apart, she better have some more common sense. 😆 But Mayank - erstwhile? He is still like he was to everyone else. He is just trying to humour Nupur and keep her happy, considering the relationship is new and their equation has seen some pretty ugly fights.

So my question remains unanswered - just WHAT will poor little buffed up bonehead Dodo do if he is confronted by someone with such an appalling question like the reason for him getting that award? 😆 😆[/quote]
Picture that lone trophy atop a cupboard in his room, smiling down at any visitor. They would gawk and ask him wide eyed - you sure you won that award? 😆 Maybe Kavs, he will embark on a Tamanna reminiscing journey and pretty much cover it all up.

@Debs: Would the erstwhile Mayank persist Nupur to say "the three magical words"? I think this whole thing paved way for the locket mishap! Even with her absurdity streak, Nupur was never so absurd as to buy a heart shaped locket for her boy friend (especially when she knows him so well) just because she is unable to get 'the three magical words' out of her mouth . N's antics were cute and innocent despite her goofiness, not irritating and dumb 😕

@Kavs: The erstwhile Mayank didn't believe in love either. I too dislike the constant persuasion to say 'three magical words', especially the phrase itself. Cant someone say I really love you - so that would be 4 words and would break the magic. LOL. But anyway, this isn't really uncommon. Most guys do expect their girlfriends to reassure them of their love. Mayank is different from the crowd but he is a guy after all...maybe something in him wants reassurance too.
I agree with you abt Nupur's current antic being dumb. It truly was dumb. Its very well to say she didn't think beyond expecting that locket to announce "I love you" as she herself could not, but she should have asked herself if it was sensible to tell him to wear it. She only compounded the absurdity by fighting with him over it.

EXACTLY! And Mayank yielding to her is just worsening things- okay, she is acting ridiculously stupid (which is out of her character btw) but he can try to talk Nupur out of it in a sweet way, can't he? NO! Instead he wears it 😕 😕 (its a diff thing that the ghastly sight never made it to the visuals) but the thought of him having worn it makes me cringe!

Debby, I understand that Mayank wants to be re-assured that Nupur loves him but in a manner of persisting her to say it? If he wanted to feel assured, he could have been a bit subtle in his approach because that would have been like THE Mayank we loved 😕 😕

@Kavs: The 'ghastly sight'! LOL. True, I am glad we weren't subjected to full length frames of locket-wearing Mayank. Well, he did try to talk her out of it. He told her it was flashy, girly and even said that he would always keep it with him. But all that couldn't humour her and so he (very reluctantly) wore it. What else could he have done? Let her sulk? That's not expected at this point of their story.

Hmm.. I have a feeling he wont ask her to say it again. I grant him the benefit of doubt. They are in college, new to all of this.. handling things the way they find suitable...

True, but somehow I did not find it convincing enough! Actually the premise itself isn't sitting well with me. I can clearly see the 'seriousness' with which the 'creatives' are handling MN. Like I said, MN are merely being used as fillers to please some of their fans with the so-called 'cute' scenes in the meanwhile before SG become a couple, because nobody (especially SG fans) has the patience to sit through Sam-Sheena romance till SG get together!
