@ Mels: I agree with you daa...she should tell them the truth about Kannan being her brother... but i think the real problem here is what Padmini overheard Sakthi tell her husband - that after marriage.... Nakulan has to listen to his wife only and not to go after mother's mundhanai nnu ... so in order to normalize things... sakthi should remain calm at all times when facing Padmini... one habbit of her we've seen often is... she fights the night and next day she goes to rekindle with her MIL...but nothing seems to work naa.. so best is to vittu kodukirathu... that way she will not lose anything.... but will gain the love of her MIL and family ....
