Today Devyani, told Gauri \, she should dress up as a modern girl, that's not the right thing to do!
I love that little speech Gauri gave on how she wants Akash to love her for her, not the clothes she wears.😃

ok....she doesn't need to wear those halter neck blouses and noodle strap blouses or whatever.........but she does need to wear better sarees.....i dont like her look at all

Gauri needs to change her appearance for herself. She has no confidence whatsoever. She does not have to wear anything she is uncomfortable with, but what she is wearing now is just ugly and stupid looking. Not just her clothes, but her hair style and heavy jewelry. She looks like a cow, as Koolsadhu so aptly put it.

I wear specs a lot of the time, when I get tired of contacts. But my specs are nice :) You can find stylish specs, but hers are terribly ugly and unflattering.

Rachna, I totally agree with you: Payal isn't even pretty. Gauri is far more attractive than either her or Tina, but she is basically hiding it behind her ugly specs and saris!

Let's not kid ourselves either: There are lots of reasons Akash doesn't find her attractive besides her appearance. I have to give him some credit: He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who needs a woman who hangs on his every word and devotes every fiber of her being to him. He seems to want a more independent woman who has her own life and gives him some space, which is completely understandable and respectable.

I find his character very unbelievable. He does not put any value into marriage, so why is he hesitating to have a relationship with Payal? He feels no obligation towards Gauri and he is hardly traditional so it makes sense for him to sleep with Payal and cheat on Gauri and yet he doesn't. He can't possibly be accepting of the idea that he will remain celibate for the rest of his life! They should show him having SOME sympathy for Gauri, evne if he doesn't love her, otherwise this situation is very hard to swallow.

I totally disagree..

And now I'm wondering why she doesn't change herself to save her marriage. She's hell-bent to not quit, then why doesn't she do something about it? Obviously, his disinterest and loathing can only convey to her that the fault is with her....whether it be personality or appearance. She won't leave the house nor will she fix herself to suit him......he won't change apparently either.......then what's left?

Exactly!!!! Akash's character is a wacko one! Gauri just doesn't get. He doesn't want a wife like her, who idolizes him every minute of the day--even though that idol is much tainted. He definately wants her to have her own life, aside from being his wife, which is pretty reasonable. Gauri doesn't have to play his tail everyday.
