Summary of Episode 16
Episode 16 - MANAS'S HOME VISIT –
• Manas packs his bags in Fatehgarh and meets Rakhi one last time before he bids her goodbye and leaves for his Hometown, New Delhi
• Rakhi arrives in New Delhi and Manas and Rakhi visit his house
• There is a grand welcome for Rakhi as she arrives at Manas's house - dhol walas, relatives and neighbors are present to welcome them
• Manas's mother does aarti, Manas's sister Mannat gives her a bouquet and Rakhi gives Manas's mother chocolates
Rakhi then spends some time with the family. They talk about:
• Rakhi being an item girl – Manas's mother say that a profession is a profession; even airhostesses are essentially waitresses
• Mannat and Mrs. Katyal tell Rakhi that they have seen Mann Ki Baat and know about Rakhi's life story and are very proud of her. They tell her that every girl would like to have a swayamvar
• Mrs. Katyal tells Rakhi that they would like her to wear jeans since they believe in moving with the times
• They have a good conversation about the item girl tag where all family members give their respective viewpoints . Manas's father in response sings "kuch to log kahnege, logo ka kaam hai kehna"
• Rakhi asks Manas's mother, "aapko mujhme kuch buraiyi nahi dikhti?" To which Mrs. Katyal says, even I have a daughter, I would not like if anyone took her interview
• Rakhi asks about Delhi-Mumbai and balancing both to which Manas's father says that Delhi and Mumbai are just 2 hours apart and there will be no issue
• They discuss the fact that Manas is much younger than Rakhi
• They also have a cute chat on opening "Rakhi Da Dhaba" in the future which all of them would be a part of
• Manas's father tells Rakhi that they are not bothered about her past because after marriage she will be Mrs Manas Katyal and that is all they are concerned with
Rakhi also has a little girl talk with Mannat. They talk about:
• They talk about fashion, rakhi's outfits in the show etc
• Rakhi advises her to become independent
• They talk about Manas and the age difference
• Mannat also shows her their childhood photographs
• Rakhi then serves food to the entire family
The next day:
• Rakhi and Manas visit places in Delhi like India Gate, Qutub Minar etc.
• They stop over at Nirula's and have a short chat there over ice-cream Manas tells her that when they were kids, Nirula's would give a discount equivalent to their exam percentage; so his parents would motivate them to study harder for Nirula's ice-cream
• Rakhi then changes into traditional clothes and visits the Gurudwara with the family
• Manas then drops Rakhi at her hotel. Before leaving, he tells Rakhi that he needs time to settle down, he should have money to take her shopping etc. He tells her "tenu leke jawanga" and that he will miss her until he sees her in Mumbai
