To the OP,
Care to site a link of the place where you have gotten this information from, 'cause I would prefer to read this in details before coming into any conclusions. I am not getting the gist of it properly, either. By stating 'artificial sperm' - are you referring about sperms that had been created in the laboratory (that's what I got from your usage of 'artificial', and Sarina's post), or are you referring to medicines or other treatments that would help an impotent man become physically competent/active (that is what I got from your "
Will this help men with fertility problems?" statement)? I will have to read the actual source where you have gotten this information from first.

If it is about helping a physically impotent man to improve his sexual problems, and his organs to produce sperms, then it is a good decision. If it is about creating an absolutely artificial sperm, then it is good, too. If a woman wants to become a mother without the need of an actual man, then this will greatly benefit her, and if the woman is capable of maintaining and raising up a or more children alone, then fine - nothing's wrong there. Already we have more women in the world compared to men, so, along with ******** this is going to benefit the woman and the society in the long run.
P.S. The usage of the asteroids was done by me intentionally (in case it seemed otherwise).
