But, Salmanjee and Amitabhjee should know better than to do such a lame movie), Tashan (LAME!), Sarkar Raj (Bachchan's only objective to cash in on their trio - never got around to watching this one, but it looked lame to me), and Jodha Akbar (Darn! This movie nearly made me fall asleep multiple times - maybe I should start watching it now - I'll be asleep in MINUTES).
I'm pretty sure I left out quite a LARGE chunk out, but out of the list above I watched JTYJN, Dostana, Tashan (ditched the movie after 30 minutes into it), and Jodha Akbar. I agree the 90's rule all the way! 2000-2010 churned out quite a lot 🤢 movies. I don't have high expectations from next year either.
Didn't even bother watching the ones I bolded in red. I completely agree about JTYJN.... I totally hated it when I saw it in the theatre. Although I did catch a repeat viewing of it on cable the other day, and I noticed a few more jokes and found it not SO unbearable. Guess it's one of those movies that grows on you. Still, I give it 5/10 coz Genelia is SO. DARN. IRRITATING.

And not ONE of these left me happy, other than Race, which I kinda enjoyed coz it was interesting with the twists (Holly style), yet had enough Bolly-ness to it. I didn't even get my paisa vasool outta the others! Not even Rab Ne.... Which really surprised me, coz I always always always get my paisa vasool outta SRK movies.
I dont get the big hype about Fashion coz honestly, I really didn't think it was revolutionary cinema, esp now in the 2000s. Who didn't know that models drink, smoke, do drugs and have sex??? Maybe this would have been an innovative movie in the mid-90s, in the Madhu Sapre/Miland Soman era, but these days, come on.... It was a totally POINTLESS movie. Hello took me more than a week to finish, coz it was so so so damn unbearable. The book could not have been raped any more mercilessly than it was by this movie.
I thought I was going to die in the theatre during a few movies like Jodha Akbar (Made me glad I didn't live back in those days coz I'd have died of sheer boredom, if not thrown to death by a crazy emporer, that too twice.), Golmaal Returns (dragged to it by a friend who I hadn't seen for 5 years. Looks like I won't be meeting her for another 5 years. :/), Kismat Konnection (THIS. MOVIE. WOULD. NOT. END!!!!!!!!!! I felt like I was sitting there for more than 3 days. Not even Manoj Bohra could make it entertaining.), Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (Went for the LOLz, came out throughly traumatised.), AND DOSTANA TOH DON'T GET ME STARTED ON. My mom still flinches when the word is said around her.
A few awaaaiii movies too... Oye Lucky Lucky Oye was innovative, and Abhay Deol is always a treat to watch, but I still didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I guess it was the Delhi lifestyle references I didn't really get. Kidnap was really awesome coz of the sheerrrrrr LOLz we got out of it. Totally enjoyed it's ghaatiness to the MAX. My friend and I couldn't stop laughing about it for days. Best 30 bucks spent in 2008.

Aamir, A Wednesday, Race, and Welcome to Sajjanpur. 4 movies. From an industry that churns out like.... MILLIONS a year? Really?
This year was totally blah too, with Raaz 2, Delhi 6, Luck By Chance, and now Kambakkht Ishq. Seriously, 6 months into the year and all I've watched is 4 movies. Me, who used to watch at least 15 Bolly movies a year. I even watched crap like KYA KOOL HAI HUM in the theaters. Even thoseee stupid movies were better than the crap that's coming out these days. My inner Bollywood addict remains alive only coz I forcefeed it old movies on a regular basis. *siggggh* :( :(
