Some of the dialogue is shamelessly stolen from the movie. 😆 The whole concept is from there, thought the background (a bit of it) is my own creation. I just rewrote the scene with different people.
Enjoy!
Preet gazed at her in awe. She was beautiful, he had known that the first day they had met, but that day, she had been in jeans and a shirt (albeit one that flattered her frame). Tonight, she was in a gorgeous light blue dress that swished around her ankles. It made her look as though she were floating.
He approached her as she reached the edge of the staircase. Holding out a hand, he asked her for a dance. She grinned slightly as she slipped her hand into his, her cheek slightly pink.
They swayed to the slow music, and he marveled over how unlike other girls she was. Most girls would be throwing themselves at him, flirting outrageously, dressed pro-actively. After all, he was Preet Juneja, son of one of the biggest businessmen in Canada. But she, she was not looking him in the eyes, embarrassed by the attention she was receiving.
"You're trying not to babble, aren't you?" he teased, referring to many earlier instances when her mouth had run away before her. She tended to talk a lot when she was nervous, and it was obvious just how nervous she was at the moment.
She nodded bashfully, biting her lip. Her eyes flickered to his, and both burst into laughter at the whole situation.
"Just who are you?" he asked her, trying to figure out the puzzle that she presented. She had an arm that left a mark if she were aiming, and sometimes even when she was not, she read comic books, she flirted like the best of the girls, but still was so awkward that is was adorable. "You throw a football like Matt Leinart, fearlessly conquer creepy stalkers, and clean up nice to boot."
"Well, I'm more of a Peyton Manning. Leinart's a lefty," she answered, correcting him.
He stopped, and looked at her in disbelief. "Marry me," he told her, completely in awe at how much she knew about sports, and everything. She giggled slightly, looking away. She obviously thought he was joking.
"I'm serious," he said. "Marry me, Rinki."
She just looked at him in shock. "You, you're actually serious?"
He nodded in response. The intense look that had overtaken the mischievous one usually in his eyes caught her attention, and she could not tear her eyes away.
"Okay," she whispered.
I do hope she liked it! And do tell me what you think, or hit the 'like' button?
