Right, wear light weight, cotton salwars, skirts, tank tops, etc. Wear stylish yet durable shoes. You never know what you may step on. Trust me. Also whenever you go for a walk or something don't wear nice nice clothes, like something you really care about. I did that once, and I noticed a bird had done it's business on my kurti.😆 Do NOT bring silk. If you want to wear heavy clothing like lehnga's and sari's, make sure they're in light colors, so you won't feel as hot. You can accessorize whatever you wear with nice jewellery like bangles and payals and such. You kind of blend in with everyone, and you feel all traditional. Invest in jewellery in India, it's cheap, and there's alot of variety. I bought a gold chain, some bangles, and a couple gold and diamond studded rings for around $100. Also, don't buy something super expensive, unless you know you will wear it. For example, I bought this really heavy lehnga like you see in serials, and I wanted to wear it for a party. I never came around wearing it, because my mom said I would die in it.
Everytime I go to India though, I always get sick. But it's really nice in India, you get to bond with your family, and watch all these awesome shows and channels such as Colors and NDTV Imagine.
Okay, enough of my chit chat, I'm gonna go watch Bidaai now.

Firstly, have a wonderful time. Secondly, do not pack clothing that exposes your shoulders or bare legs etc. If you must wear a skirt, make sure it's loose and flowy fabric and nothing skin tight unless its for a club. Pack fabrics that are natural because they will breathe and not stick to you.
As a rule, wear modest clothing that doesnt flaunt your assets because yes, if you stand out in the wrong way, people will notice, guys will whsitle and stare and it's totally different over there so you dont want to give the wrong idea to people.
I usually go in a kurta and jeans and noone bothers me. 😳

totally agree with you!!
I took loads of make up last time I went thinking i'll definately need it, but its true, you dont wear alot there anyway!!!
And comfortable shoes, preferably flats or somthinf would be a good idea, since wearing sillhettos on uneven ground in india is a baddddd idea, Although I have never tried it myself though......
Im taking wedges this time, I think they should be ok!!

I would buy my skin care over there for the most part, because the cleanser wont work with the hard water. You may as well get the stuff there in small bottles as it is made to work with their water. Products in the West are made to work with soft water.

Seriously, a good cleanser is a must because it will take off the dirt and grime that lands on your face at the end of a day outside. A lot of dust and dirt lands on your face that you cant even see but it will come off with a good cleanser, Garnier and other brands now make ones that are compatible with their water. This is why I dont bring a lot of skin stuff because it doesnt work there.
