In book 7, Hermione says that no1 can make food apper out of thin air as it is one of theexception of gamp's law of elemental transfiguration..
But in book 2, when Dumbledore is at Hagrid's place in front of Harry, Ron and Hermione, he twirls his wand and cakes appear out of thin air..
how did that happen?

he didn't 'create' cakes but summoned them... not by accio spell... there must be another spell for that... bcoz this happens many times in books... molly weasley makes onion soup appear out of thin air n dumbledore summons madam rosemerta's finest mead in the dursley's house in the 6th part...
it's not producing but summoning simply...

^ That's what I think, he summoned it.

Wanna know what I noticed, in DH Hermoine said she confudled her parents and made them go to Australia. However, after when they left the Wedding and then there were death eaters near them, she said she doesn't know how to do those spells but only knows the theory.. tha'ts another mistake.

When Hermione enchanted her mom n dad, she "modified" their memory, that is, changed their memory to something else... while obliviating the Death Eaters, she had to "just remove" a part of his memory that he had, not change an existing one... so I guess it was the 1st time for her...

The memory charms used by Hermione on her parents and the one she was talking about doing on the death eaters were different charms, that's what I read on Leaky:)
About Hagrid, he didn't actually 'conjure' the food, it was lying somewhere in his home and he just summoned it:)

The memory charms used by Hermione on her parents and the one she was talking about doing on the death eaters were different charms- because she modified her parents memory whereas she had to remove the Death Eaters. You can't make food appear out of thin air- you have to have the food in the first place and then summon it. Dumbledore must have had the drinks then transfigurised them or made them vanish so he could summon them or make them appear whenever he wants.

Hermione never confunded her parents,...!
She just modified their memory and made it something else..
the same that tom riddle did to morfin to make him confess to the crime he never committed..
confunding was sumthing she did on mclaggen.. that was different..😊
