Bollywood seems to be recession proof when it comes to dressing up their actresses. Here's a look at the most expensive outfits and accessories of B-town.
Kambakkht cash ' Kareena's 8 lakh outfit:
One could almost setup a mini boutique in Rs 800000. But that's the price of a single costume that Kareena Kapoor will be sporting in Kambakkht Ishq . Producer Sajid Nadiadwala known for his lavish production values specially ordered it for the actress from Paris. At 8 lakhs the dress will just get one fleeting appearance in a song number.
Weighed down ' Kangana's 25 kg costume:
Awe-struck by the gowns at the Oscars, Kangna apparently asked designer Rick Roy to make one fairytale gown for her to wear at a forthcoming international awards night. The inspired designer used a shipload of crystals on 250 metres of pink fabric for this gown. Kangna is said to be shocked by the creation that weighs an astonishing 25 kg and is wondering how she will walk in it.
Feather in cap ' Akshay Kumar's 65 lakh turban:
Akshay Kumar sported a real expensive turban in Singh Is Kinng worth a whopping Rs 65 lakh that had a real diamond studded on it. The brief to designer Shabina Khan was that the pagdi should look like a crown claiming his status as a King.
Historic Gem ' Aishwarya's 2 lakh outfit :
Each of Ash's costumes designed by Neeta Lulla cost around Rs. 2 lakhs. To recreate the real splendour of the historic era for Jodhaa Akbar, the costumes were studded with diamonds, kundan and other precious and semi-precious stones.
Gifted vision - Amitabh Bachchan's 2.7 lakh sunglasses:
Amitabh Bachchan sported a Rayban sunglass worth Rs 2.7 lakhs in the film Zamaanat where incidentally he played a blind person. Unfortunately the film never saw the light of the day. After the film Bachchan gifted the sunglasses to the director S Ramaanathan.
Not so cheap ' Mallika Sherawat's diamond-studded dress :
The new-year bash held at a 5-star hotel in Mumbai some years ago had Mallika Sherawat as the lead performer gyrating seductively to a live audience in a diamond-studded dress that created quite some noise.
Pricey Paro ' Madhuri Dixit's 40 kg ghagra worth 15 lakhs :
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas had the most lavish and elaborately worked costumes. The ghagra that Madhuri Dixit wore in a song from Devdas was so heavily worked upon that it literally weighed 40 kgs at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs.
Worth watching ' Sherlyn's diamond embedded bra:
Sherlyn Chopra has always been in news only for controversial reasons. When she released her album ' Dard-e-Sherlyn ', she ensured she remained in news, if not for her singing, then for her diamond-studded bra.
