Tension between producer Vashu Bhagnani and his director Vivek Sharma has turned ugly. After months of mounting differences, reportedly on June 3rd Vashu struck Vivek on the face. Sources said the problems have existed for a long time. Vashu's son makes his screen debut with the movie and Vashu is not holding back on spending money and does not want to make compromises. Reports say the director decided to make money from this exercise. Vashu signed Vivek for Rs 6.1 million right after he made 'Bhoothnath'. He'd been paid most of the amount and only Rs 2 million was due to be paid around the time of the film's release. But on June 3rd afternoon, Vivek went to Bhagnani's office along with his legal counsel and served him a notice for a balance payment of Rs 4 million! He claimed that the producer had signed him for Rs 9.1 million and now that the movie was to release on June 12, the money was due to him.
Vashu, as the world knows, has been running from pillar to post trying to release his son's film, tried to reason with Vivek and his lawyer. Insiders say that Vashu told Vivek that the former made over 30 films as a producer and never in his wildest dreams would he think of paying almost ten million to a flop director. After this, Vivek got aggressive and started screaming and making a scene. Vashu lost his temper and slapped Vivek and told him that he would drop his name from the credits of the film if he didn't come to his senses. Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) has also received a CC-ed copy of the legal notice. A staff of the Association confirmed receiving the notice against Puja Entertainment and that an emergency meeting was being called to resolve the issue. Vashu Bhagnani won't comment on the incident. Says Vivek Sharma he is going to expose Vashu and the myth that Vashu is a wonderful producer. Vivek plans to take him to court.
