Punjabi lad Gurmeet Chaudhry and Bong beauty Debina Bannerjee have essayed the role of Ram and Sita in television serial Ramayana for almost one and half year now. This serial comes to an end at the end of this month and the both Chaudhry and Debina are on a national tour meeting their fans and visiting temples to perform Aartis.
Having played the mythological characters that in the past have typecast all those who played them, this couple is not scared of being type case. Chaudhry explains, "For me it is a dream come true to play the role of Ram at such a young age. I watched the serial Ramayana featuring Arun Govil when I was just three and while in the first two months of shooting this serial, we did worry about being typecast but soon after offers began pouring in which were totally different from me playing Ram. This is an indication that we are not being typecast." Both the actors were in town today.
Are they on a national tour??!
