Poonam Dhillon
After Kittie Party ended in September 2004, Poonam Dhillon preferred to stay away from the telly front. In this Zee daily, Dhillon was seen as Manju who had to contend with her husband's other woman.

Other projects

In between there was buzz about Hriday Shetty's Hum Hain Na which was supposedly Dhillon's Bollywood comeback — but the project turned out to be a no show. In the intermittent period, the actress kept herself busy with the Hindi play, Perfect Husband, which had shows all over the country as well as abroad.

Late December the play was staged in Dubai and there are plans to take it to Pakistan. "Yes, we are working towards it and we hopeful that it will happen," she says. Incidentally Dhillon is a big draw across the border and people still remember her as Noorie.

Dhillon is also exploring the possibility of being back on the celluloid front. "After Kittie Party I did not take on new projects as I wanted to be with my son (Anmol) and daughter (Paloma).

Children needed me

I realised they needed my physical presence, especially my son. There has always been a lot of importance given to academics in my family.

My son is now in class eight and more settled with his routine of school, tuitions and friends. Previously, my kids used to wait for me to come home; now I wait for them to return. I am looking at being back on the scene. I am yet undecided whether I should do TV or films."

She says that there have been offers but is in no hurry. "I have always done things at my own pace.

Over time I have kept reinventing myself rather than do roles that get you stuck in a rut. I did television long back — when I did Andaz on Zee." At the same time she is also wondering whether she should be back on the big screen. "I am keeping my options open. It all depends on what I have to do."
