Boney Kapoor chosen FFI President!

Movie Mogul Boney Kapoor couldn't have asked for anything more! His production NO ENTRY directed by eminent writer Anees Bazmee was the biggest hit of 2005. And now close on the heels of NO ENTRY's super success comes the news that the proficient Film Producer has been unanimously elected the President of the Film Federation of India (FFI). What a remarkable co-incidence but a pleasant surprise for the accomplished Boney Kapoor! The elections were held on 29th December after the 52nd general meeting of the FFI at the Club, Mumbai. Mr.Kapoor was pitched up from the Mumbai region by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA).

Boney Kapoor is a pioneer and one of the most influential personalities in the Hindi Film Industry today. Right from his first film HUM PAANCH, Boney has always displayed his fondness for experimenting with diverse genres. Boney's forthcoming films PAANCH, DOST- MY BEST FRIEND and MILENGE MILENGE are amongst the most widely anticipated films of 2006 and have obviously garnered huge expectations after the phenomenal success of NO ENTRY. Boney hasn't restricted himself to films alone but has taken a giant leap into television with the serial MALINI IYER. The serial features his wife the distinguished Sridevi in the title role and has already gone on to become the highest rated television show currently. But now Boney has taken a big stride forward as his selection as the FFI president marks his entry into the industry politics in a big way. And what a way to get there!
