She has yet to win the coveted prize on Zee's musical show — Challenge 2005, but Nihira Joshi already feels like a winner. Winning smile: Nihira Joshi
The contestant, who is a part of Ismail Durbar's team has a clear lead over the other finalists in the competition. At least on her resume.
Learning with Sunidhi
Nihira recently sang the title track for Balaji's new show Kasamh Se, and has previously worked with Sunidhi Chauhan in Bunty aur Babli for the song Dhadak Dhadak.
"This is the first title track I have sung for any serial. It was a wonderful experience working with Lalit Sen who has composed music for the track."
When asked about her experience of working with Sunidhi, she said, "I admire her style of singing, and like her. I too want to be a versatile singer. Although I had a very minor portion in the song, it was a learning process to be a part of that recording."
Final jitters
Nihira, who, incidentally, is the only contestant from Mumbai in the finals, said that reaching the finals of Challenge gave her a big high, but added that there was a lot more to be done.
"As the last round is drawing closer, I am getting more nervous and anxious. At this point of time all of us are sailing in the same boat. I plan to give the final round my best shot, the rest is up to God," she says.
Among her future project is a film — Alag, for which, Adesh Shrivastav has composed themusic. "I am singing the title track for the film with Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Gayatri Iyer and Hemchandra. Adesh sir heard me singing and asked me to be a part of the song."
Like the other contestants, Nihira, too, wants to pursue playback singing. "I don't want to be stuck doing one particular style of songs. I would love to experiment with different genres and work under different music directors."
