Maybe next year Sonam, if she keeps my statements more politically correct!

well its not about being politically correct..its about having some sort of a decorum and some sort of a restraint when you talk..you don't just start spouting unrelated irrelevant crap when you are making a public appearance for a professional assignment.. what does age or coming from a different generation has anything to do with endorsing a beauty product.. afaik Ash is endorsing mascaras, hair color, lip gloss, etc etc etc..and they are used by people of all ages... they are marketed for women of all ages (and some cross dressers).. so the generation comment was unneeded and it just showed how inarticulate Sonam is..

and i don't blame LOreal for not making her a part of the Cannes crew (i always had doubts about her being a part of main events..like srsly she is just a starlet in India and endorsing products specially marketed for India..so why would they put her in the spotlight..it makes NO sense to me.. i do think if she was ever gonna be a part of Cannes, it would have been for smaller scale events)..

gawd knows what she would have spewed if she was to be at Cannes and the media asked her something.. she ain't the sharpest tool in the shade judging by her interviews and i wouldn't be surprised if Loreal were wary of that..

🤣 All of Salman's ex gfs are having a thriving career and endorsing multinational Brands at the ageof 35 - yeah right ! And where exactly is Manisha who was SLB's leading lady too ? Give the lady her due when its fit . Unlike Sonam, she didnt have Daddy dearest and uncles and auntys in bollywood to help her.
I like Sonam's acting I thought she was really good in Saawariya and Delhi 6.unfortunate for her that the movies didnt do well.
Sonam is still young , giver her some time who knows where she will reach when she is 35 - her path will be a little bit easier now because of the women who came before her - and like it or not that includes Aishwarya.

I don't care if her statement was taken in the wrong context. It's pretty obvious she didnt say it in a malicious way. But what Ash did is directly stab her in the back and hold her accountable for something unintentional.

This is coming from a huge Aishwarya and Sonam fan. I was an Aishwarya fan, before Devdas, before HDDCS so I think I know the history of her career.

1. Aishwarya was Miss World and a very successful model. Apart from Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, and maybe two or three others, how many other Miss Worlds can you name? Do you really think outside of India, being a Miss World is a HUGE deal? It's not. As for being a successful model, no doubt she was but she wasn't an international supermodel. She was only popular in India among those who followed fashion. She wasn't Laxami. Many people didn't know her name even when they saw her in ads until MIss World. So please don't say she was extremely popular even before she entered movies. She wasn't. And she wasn't well known at all until Devdas went to Cannes in 2002 and it was than she got international attention. Devdas was in 2002, 7 years after she entered Bollywood. She became the face of L'Oreal, end of 2003/early 2004...8 years after she entered Bollywood. The fact that Sonam is the face of L'Oreal in just two years after entering Bollywood is a big deal out of itself. L'Oreal is an INTERNATIONAL company, it's not an Indian company, so there's no way Sonam can be a face of L'Oreal only locally. Being part of Dream Team doesn't mean you have to be the face of L'Oreal all over the world. Eva Longeria, Gong Li and some others are proof of that.

2. Aishwarya's first few movies were flops. Iruvar, Aur Pyar Ho Gaya, Aa Aab Laute Chale, and even Jeans didn't do well. It wasn't until HDDCS that people thought she could act. I still remember the days when people called her a "cold fish". Even Aishwarya herself commented on that and mentioned how hurtful that was. People thought she was just another pretty face model who can't act. She worked HARD, and proved them wrong. Sonam is TWO movies old. Yes both her movies flopped but her acting skills have been appreciated. Is she good of an actor as Aishwarya? Of course not. Aishwarya has been around since 97, that's 12 years. So she's way ahead of Sonam. There is no comparison. But please, apart from Abhishek Bachchan (who is a good actor I might add), whose dad likes to remind everyone that Abhi is his son, what other star kid is known for just belonging to a filmi family?? Kareena?? Hrithik? Aamir? Salman? They all started off being known as starkids but they all made a name for themselves because of their hardwork and I think with time, Sonam would make a name for herself too. Please stop with the "she's a star kid"....if all the starkids get out of Bollywood, more than half of Bollywood would be gone.

3. Sonam has a big mouth, Aishwarya is reserved? Aishwarya has been around for a much longer time, please dont forget all the controversies she got into herself. She made stupid decisions before too. And I would expect Aishwarya to be more reserved, more mature as she has more experience. Sonam is still new but I don't think she's rude at all. I think its just how you look at it. She's just sharing what she thinks. There's a line between being honest and rude, and I don't think Sonam has crossed it yet. And can we not forget, L'Oreal's statement? Sonam's words were MISQUOTED. So she didn't actually say those words and we all saw the video.

4. I am extremely disappointed if Aishwarya actually did do this but I guess they all know better.
