'People will not tolerate mediocrity from me'
You made a big impact as an actor, but still the hunt for that big solo lead continues...
I have done some very good films and I think I have made my mark. I want to do solo films, but things should fall in place. I have done films in which I have gone solo (Seher) and hope to do more. I'm happy with what I'm doing.

Your role as 'Circuit' in Munnabhai, could not bring you the big films. Why?
By playing 'Circuit' I created a benchmark for myself and I need to stick to that platform now. People want to see me in good roles and good movies. That's quite a compliment for me as an actor, but yes that has limited me too.

But the choice of films hasn't worked for you...
The kind of movies that we are churning out unfortunately isn't up to the mark. Everyone puts in his/her best while making a film, but the truth is that our best is not good enough.

What about reports claiming that your marriage was on the rocks? Also, buzz has it that your attitude has changed after you tasted success.
There's no truth to any of this. Sometimes I genuinely couldn't do someone's film and those people took offence to it and spread rumours about my 'attitude' problem. I don't need to clarify anything about my personal life to anyone.

He was great in Sehar, and I wish more people had seen that performance from him.

i agree with you sanam.........Arshad is great as a part of a multi cast but i don't think he can carry off a film as a solo lead.

Well, alot of people are good actors but don't get solo leads, because they don't fill the so-called hero prototype. If that is what you mean, then I suppose I get that. I can't believe I forgot to mention Waisa Bhi Hota Hai, Part 2. That was a great movie, and Arshad was great, playing the leading role, there in IMHO.

Arshad Warsi is a very underrated actor. He is very talented. I love his comic timing but he can also do justice to more serious roles as well. I guess ppl have accepted him as the hero's side-kick, which is a bit unfortunate coz Arshad can carry off a film on his own. But it's also
abt luck. Some actors are not destined to have that kind of success.
