Too bad it is bollywood's lost not hers....Why is skin color so important....They say even Lord Krishna was not fair...As long as features are sharp and look beautiful color should not matter when it comes to being actor-actress.....Age should not matter.....In case of Female dancers if they continue their dancing they don't gain that much weight and remain in better shape....I have an aunt who is 64 and she is trained bharat natyam dancer and still she can dance....Her 3 daughters are trained bharat natyam dancers....Their Arangetram was so stupendous....Best ones I have seen so far in So. Cal....None of those Nakul mahajan bollywood dancers can compete with 2 of my cousins...😃👏👏
Yeah Bhanupriya did look Telugu to me...didn't want to guess & ask...I have become little more knowledgable abt 4 diff southern states....Trust me that is thanks to forums and friends of last almost 4 yrs....😃
Thanks for sharing additional info on Shobhana and Vineeth...I am checking out those links....
Watched 2 so far...I was impressed with Vineeth from"Ami je tomar" song and now watching him dance I am his fan....Loved his posture and dancing....They both are amazing...
I will add more once I get done watching all.....
Thanks a million to all who shared their knowledge....Appreciate it....😃

Di, your picks are often exactly like mine, when it comes to music and dance - so there is a little mallu in you when it comes to talent! 😉 Please Di, take it as a big compliment, as I know how mallus are when it comes to talent - they dont care about looks or religion or background and will always boost the real talent without discrimination... They will always go for the best in the lot.

Actually Shobana is an excellent dancer - she is a little Padmini in looks too! She is running a dance school in Chennai and choreographs a lot of new dances for her students to perform on stage - she is a true devotee to dance. None of the actresses in the remakes of her Manichitrathazhu role come anywhere near her act - even they themselves have said that they couldnt do it as well as she did.. And you know what, she choreographed the last dance herself!! The character is not a dancer in real life, but gets carried away as being possessed by a Tamil dancer's soul from early century - so if you watch it, you can see that when she is doing the dance as the character, she is not doing good, but when she is visualizing it as a dream or imagination, she excels in it... Here's the link of her same dance in the original mallu movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk8yDEG7Mk4

Terence reminds me of Vineeth at times - he always looked like a teenager boy even in his 30s, same as Terence. Maybe that both are superb dancers, and they enjoy it so much, it keeps them young... 😃

Yes, Di, me and my cousins used to say the same, that it's Bollywood's loss to lose an actress like Bhanupriya - a bunch of them from South made it because of both talent and looks - Hemamalini, Rekha, Sridevi, Jayapradha, Meenakshi, etc to now Asin and Vidya. Bhanupriya has the looks - she is so pretty, but it's sad when beauty is measured based on skin colour. But the good thing is that because of that, she went for mallu-tamil-telugu films and wow, what a talent she is! Not only her, even Hemamalini dances so well even at this age - in fact I think she is way better than her two daughters on stage... 😊 BTW, she used to live in your area for a few years with her husband and child...

Yup, they use the long and thick sticks, which are made from a specific plant that is kinda like bamboo, but flexible - it grows well in Kerala. You can buy them in stores, and they still have plenty of them. But the trick is not to get punished - let it be your parents or uncles or aunts or teachers, and as long as you follow the rules and do your work, you wont get any. I like that system, believe it or not, as it's not abuse but discipline method. That's why majority of us turn out to be good adults and better parents to our kids. Those who were spoiled or who rebelled turn out to be not so good - our own life experience proves it all.

The saying is (in Sanskrit, as malayalam is derived from Sanskrit) -- "matha pitha guru daivam" -- means, mother, father and guru are like Gods to us - respect them, obey them, and it's like doing the same with God. Of course I agree that there are bad people among parents and teachers, but that is a very small fraction though. The parents who were brought up well turn out to be good parents too. But in general, most teachers care for their students, good and bad, and they will do everything possible to get them in the right path and become good citizens - they feel it's their duty. I adore my teachers, and even after many years, I am sure my teachers will remember me and will be excited to know about me and will be so proud of me.... That's how they are. They dont do it a mean mind, but rather with the sincere intention of making them good adults, exactly how they feel for their own children. Most of the students keep the same love and respect for their teachers, regardless of their personal gains....

i completely agree with you. I live in USA and i haate to say this but most of the kids her(in high school) have absolutely no respect for their teachers or elders..sometimes i wonder what studying in india would do for them....it makes me angry to see them disrespecting and talking so badly abt their parents and teachers.
