Bollywood to perform in Toronto on June 6, 2009

'Slumdog Millionaire' Actress, Tanvi Lonkar to Host the Event

(Toronto ON) Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. has teamed up with concert promoters EG Live to bring some of Bollywood's biggest musical stars to Toronto for 'Jai Ho Live - A Bollywood Dream' at the Air Canada Centre (ACC) on June 6th. The event will be hosted by Tanvi Lonkar, the actress best known for her role as the teenage Latika in the award-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

The amazing line up of well known Bollywood performers includes one of India's most prevalent music directors and composers Aadesh Shrivastava, pop star and heart throb Shaan, award-winning artist Roop Kumar Rathod and 2009 Winner of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' Vaishali Made to name only a few. Aadesh, no stranger to Canada, has already blown Toronto audiences away in his high profile performance of 'Hollywood Meets Bollywood' with International superstar Wyclef Jean at the One X One Charity Gala during the 2007 International Toronto Film Festival. Aadesh has lent his voice on many film sound tracks featuring Bollywood legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Shaan is no stranger to the Bollywood stage, Apart from his albums, Shaan has sung playback vocals for various Bollywood films, including Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai, Lakshya, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Hum Tum, Dhoom, Dus, Salaam Namaste, Fight Club, Don - The Chase Begins Again, Fanaa,Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Om Shanti Om. He hosted the television show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee TV, which won the Music Programme of the Year award at the Indian Telly Awards in 2003. Shaan is also the host of the very popular music show called 'Star Voice of India (SVOI) which airs on Star Plus.

Joining them is Roop Kumar Rathod, the gifted classical and versatile singer, who has overwhelmed the Indian Film Industry with his unique and distinct vocal ranges, and Vijay Prakash, the amazing voice behind the 'Slumdog Millionaire' Oscar winning song ' Jai Ho'.

Along with Winners from the popular Music reality TV show 'Saregamapa' the Bollywood dream team promises to deliver magical musical night, in one city, for one night only.
