Smita Patil and Raj Babbar's son Prateek Babbar was introduced to the entertainment fraternity by the famous dancer and Guru Sandiip Sopparkar on International Dance Day. The dancer had organized a dance competition on the occasion.

The lad sizzled on stage with his heart thumping moves. He was awarded the 'Best Dancer of the day' title.

Prateek, quite interestingly, shared his opinion about Shabana Azmi on this occasion. "I share a special bond with Shabana Azmi. She is like my mother. I am really happy that she is here today. I feel as though my own mom is here," said an emotional Prateek.

It must be noted here that the official rivalry between Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil was at its peak during the 1970s and 80s with both the actresses trying to outdo each other on screen.

Smita Patil died tragically in childbirth and Shabana has shared a strong emotional connect with her ex-colleague's son ever since he was born. "Prateek has performed brilliantly. He sizzles on stage. I really wish him every success in life," gushed a proud Shabana. Here's one tinsel-town relationship that's truly heartwarming.

That line really touched me. I get really emotional when I read such things!! Smita was a fine actress. It's tragic how she left the world so early.
