ya i had seen a documentary on this.......it has resulted in a gross imbalance in the male to female ratio....

so sorry to hear about your colleagues....

It feels good to hear about strong and independent women like Neera Chopra. I hope both of her daughters are successful.

The male-female ratio in India is already pretty skewed. It is so sad that people still look at girl children as burdens.

We still have people who force women to put up with infidel/abusive husbands and cruel in-laws. What people don't understand is strong single parents bring up their children much better than meek abused mothers in a crappy marriage.

So kudos to all such women who have the guts to walk out of such marriages.

I completely agree Maya! People need to understand that two parents does not necessarily mean a happy home. Women need to stand up for themselves, trust me you are not doing your kids any favor by putting up with a bad husband. Kids understand everything, they are not mere puppets.

I find it annoying when people ask a woman to adjust it for the sake of family. It is demeaning to the woman.
Sadly! most rich men cheat because they know that their homemaker wife would settle for an alimony instead and not go out in public. That's what we see the trend in most of our male actors.

i'm sorry to hear about your parents..
it's so sad to still have that prejudice in our society.. it's a disgrace to women, really... most of the times when the marriage does not work, it is the guy's fault but hardly they are blamed...

Guesswho, Kudos to your mom👏. I won't sympathize because that would be an insult to your mom.
I seriously wish that more women come forward to teach these men, suffering from a mid-life crisis, a good lesson.

Men are cheating, lying jerks. I don't mean to paint all men with the same brush, but comeon.....WTF was wrong with this dude? He gave up his own flesh and blood? For what? A boy child that will probably grow up and not even give two hoots about him? That would serve him right though. Regardless, Karma is a bit*h, he must be kicking himself in the nuts now. I'm sooooooooooooo glad this girl will be chosen to represent India on an international platform. Hopefully, her message will be sent out loud and clear to everyone who will watch the pageants! Kudos to her mother for being such a strong lady and for raising such strong, independent daughters.
