Not really,because this is not how the system functions now a days,....no channel would do that,....they bet their name and crores of moolahs on their main leads,be it publicity,projection,representation or promotion....channel has immense pressure on the prodution house,and channels have no emotions or consideration for any actor character or track,their source of incentives is profits,be it response,commercials or TRPs.What you are saying seems not so practically universal as those who emerge as impactful characters and more popular characters are made to rule the show as its simple business.
In GES also if channel has to promote and make Sujit lead the show from the very beginning and even after years of his presence in GES,its business, as even after repeated replacements they have not been able to generate interest in main leads or see Sujit diminishing,he became more and more popular and consistent with time....
Specially in case of Sujit he became the lead the day show started.....although new samman is better than the previous one.....sayantani's bong features and amazing dance made her extremely appealing.....
