Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor once major rivals had sorted out their differences when their children Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor were cast for Rakeysh Mehra's Delhi 6. Now, it looks like Sonam has been the one who's gained a lot from this new-found friendship.
The actor is making her stage debut this year at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), an event whose brand ambassador is Amitabh himself.
Amitabh and Anil apparently shed their egos at the premiere of the Aishwarya Rai starrer The Pink Panther 2. Anil was specially invited by Amitabh for the event. Reportedly, the two gelled very well at the event.
The two actors had locked horns in the past when Anil was in his prime and belting out one hit after the other. Anil was being referred to as someone who would snatch away the numero uno position from Amitabh.
A source reveals: "All that is history now as the two have come close in recent times. Even Sonam is good friends with Abhishek. And IIFA always has a surprise element as far as stage appearances or performances are concerned. They mostly get first-timers to perform on stage. Hrithik Roshan performed for the first time at IIFA, so did Abhishek Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi."
