young actor KARAN KUNDRA
talks about his foray into acting on small screen & his fansHE has the looks, he has
the attitude and he has the passion.
Meet young and suave Karan Kundra, the
dashing new find of Ekta Kapoor, the newest poster boy of the small screen.
Believe it or not, Karan was selected by Ekta Kapoor from Facebook,one of the most
popular social networking sites. "Yes,I was on Facebook and luckily Ekta added me to
her profile. She liked my pictures and asked me to come over to meet her. In a
meeting for about half an hour I was selected to play the lead role of Arjun Punj
in the show called 'Kitani Mohabbat Hai' that comes on NDTV Imagine." So did the two K's
in his name do all the wonders? "Yes, absolutely," gushes the 24-year-old Punjabi hunk.
"I had actually never thought of acting.After coming back from Florida, I was planning to
set up a call centre in Punjab. Getting into the small screen was a bolt from the blue. Hence
I really think that numerology works," says the handsome actor who was in Ahmedabad
on a promotional event. Karan was already into modelling.
He was one of the finalists at the Mr India 2008 contest and had won the Mr Style Statement title as well. Karan had completed three semesters of MBA at Florida and is now back in India."I am yet to complete my MBA and I will definitely do it," he says.
Talking about Ahmedabad, Karan says, "My trip to Ahmedabad has been a good one.
This place gives me a homely feel. The air is very clear and unlike Mumbai, the traffic here is
much smoother. And yes Gujarati food is awesome, I especially liked the 'khakhras' which are very
healthy and delicious.
"Talking about himself vis--vis his screen image,
Karan says, "The"The character of Arjun is a very intense one. He is a passionate man with his own set of principles. And in real life, I too am very similar. You can say that Arjun is the larger than life picture of Karan. But yes, there is one major difference - while Arjun never smiles on screen, Karan is never seen without wearing a smile! (Laughs)"
The young actor also boasts of a huge fan following. "I am available on Facebook. There are a lot of fans, especially females on the site. I actually call them my friends, not fans. I receive a huge
number of emails and letters too," he said, not before ending with a "And, I enjoy every part of it!"
