'I don't mind doing a street play'
Basking in the glory of Slumdog Millionaire for "one last day" on the launch of its Home Video, Anil Kapoor fielded questions with his tongue-in-cheek humour How has SD changed your life?
Everybody has become millionaires – Star-Fox, distributors and producers – I am still here living in Mumbai. What's the advantage of the Home Video ?
The reach of the movie will increase. Especially in smaller towns, people watch movies on DVDs and this DVD has scenes that are included neither in the film nor in the pirated DVDs. The quality of the film is also much better. Viewers have the advantage of owning a piece of history! Why is the Oscar night not included in the DVD?
Maybe after six months…No, no… I am just joking. But the Oscar show's rights remain with the Academy. Do you get a pinch of royalty from the DVD sales as well?
Lot of money has already come to me (Laughs). I am closely associated with Plan India since the last 5-6 years, so whatever comes to Plan I feel that it comes to me! You are doing the tele-series 24. What's your part in it?
I always like to talk about my work just before the release. The only thing I will say at this point is that yes, I am doing it. So, would you do more of western shows and films? Is Bollywood taking a backseat for you?
If I believe in the "material" – it might be from anywhere in the world – I would do it. Obviously, India will be always my first priority. How about TV shows in India?
I don't mind doing a street-play also anything which excites me – theatre, movie, TV – it could be any medium. I react instinctively to offers. I have been offered several shows on TV but none of them were exciting enough. My decisions are always content-oriented and also depend who are the people behind the project. Are you doing No Problem with Sanjay Dutt ?
Yes, that's the film with Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna.

Last but not the least, you always shied away from endorsing products saying that it's not your job. Now your daughter Sonam is endorsing a cosmetic product. What's your take on it?
I love it – kahin se to paise aa rahe hain. I never made any money, I never did any endorsements.
