BUT there is no doubt TRP's have fallen from last year levels when it was always number 1 & then number 1 or 2 after BV's arrival.
So is this just a historical trend is my question!
If we look at history to look at the top shows & see how long they were on top or near the top for we should get a trend....so I did that.
After research I found out the following:
Kyunki/Kahani were both ruling the top 2 places for around 2.5 Years before Jassi came
Jassi fever lasted for around 1 year.....after which TRP's gradually fell.
So from mid 2004 - late 2005 Kyunki/Kahani/Kasauti/Kahin to hoga were at the top spots. (with Indian Idol I think also getting some love)
Then Saat Phere came along in mid 2005 and gradually took the top stop.....but it was only in the top spot for around 7 or so months after which Kasamh se overtook it. (early 2006)
Kasamh Se then stayed at the top for a further 8 - 9 months after which banoo main teri dulhann came along in August 2006 n picked up in 2 months.
Dulhann then stayed extremely popular till I think Bidaai came.....Bidaai maintained dominance since I think January 2008 (when it reached popularity)......it maintained it even when BV was there.
In short here is the summary (Years = how long serial was near the top for):
Kyunki -- 2.5 Years + 1 Year (later on) = 3.5 Years ~~~ Kahani was 2nd throughout along with Kasauti
Jassi -- 1 Year
Saat Phere -- 7 - 8 Months
Kasamh Se -- 8 - 9 Months
Banoo Main Teri Dulhann -- 1.2 Years
Bidaai -- 1.3 Years (along with BV which has stayed tied on top with it for arounf 9 months)
BV -- 9 Months (in a tie along with bidaai)

In effect except for Ekta's Kyunki & Kahani which lets accept it at the time were innovative, fresh & more popular than even bidaai & BV are (they used to get TRP's of 10 consistently) NO SERIAL had dominance for much over a year
So is this trend simply telling us bidaai will gradually fall down now?
EDIT: my dates are all approximations......feel free to correct me & add in your thoughts
