N, Morningdew, An, LataM - I read your takes both here and in Ria's Adda - interesting discourse u all had going. An I am with u my friend. N' - woh perfect nahi, but Punji ka koi jawab nahi - except for the hug (stiffness - maybe there were reason he didn't want to hug her too close - mmm - yeah i have a dirty mind). Now I apologize because I am spamming bcuz the rest of the content is same as what I say at the Adda, but forgive its been a busy day n will be worse tomorrow.
Now on to my task of Defending Arohi
Jhansi ki Rani - Punji ki Arohi
My client has been accused of (1) insentively saying "I hate u" n "aap meri nazar se ghir gaye" without giving Arjun a chance to explain himself; (2) Giving Arjun a thand (or matronly) hug today.
Nups said there are layers to our Punji (I agree) and maybe there a few layers to our Ms. Arohi Sharma as well - lets take a moment to explore a few of her layers.
-We all have insecurities and demons (our mental monsters in the closet). Things we are super sensitive about. What is Arjun sensitive about? He's sentive about his dad n' his undying commitment to his dad. He's vulnerable when it comes to his mom - uski sabse bari zakham uski maa ka "betrayal" hai - it for years colored his entire perception of the world. What is Arohi sentive about? Arohi's sentive about her dad's izzat n' values. And she's passionate about her music. Protective of her sisters and vulnerable in a different way from Arjun about her mom.
What does Arohi do when she's mad? when she is a little mad, she articulates it in a direct forthright manner - thus their nok-jhok. When she is really really upset - she tends to walk away n' get all interspective. I can see everyone going huh? 😆 Think about the day when she saw Rupali at the hotel with Arjun n thought they were having an affair and the day' when Arjun assaulted her bc he taught she had betrayed his secret about his mom. Both times she was very upset, so she walked away from him - she didn't confront him. So, when she is truly truly mad she tends to walk away. However, when u push her into a corner she can articulate herself . Btw I note she gave what some of you have described as a "bhashan", but she didn't yell at him. She too more or less just stated her feelings. She was hurt - hurt because she thought he hadn't listened to her and interfered when she had told him not to. Should she have had more faith in him - Maybe. But, u have to remember this girl knows Arjun in a number of facets (the boy abandoned by his mom who hates women, the man who rescues puppies and helps strangers, the man who attempted to misuse his influence his power n' send her innocent sister to jail, the guy who goes above n' beyond for the pple he loves like DK (covering up the Rupali affair), the man who loves her n' showers her with Dhondu, etc. n' offers to make sure she wins the contest). So, its not irrational for her to think that he did use his power n' influence to help her win especially within factual context of KS residing with him n' Arjun increasing the # of participants. But, Arjun is changing on her n' for her. She's probably doesn't realize to what extent quite yet. Hell even we didn't expect him to change so much - most of us expected him to get mad (not remain calm). I guess what I am trying to say is her misunderstanding was natural.
But, was her expression "I hate u" and "Aaj aap meri nazar se ghir gaye hai" appropriate? Her "I hate u" wasn't truly "I hate u" - it was a I am disappointed in u - i thought u would respect my feelings, but u didn't. Within that context, I don't think it was excessive. I don't think it was excessive bc this is where is girl is senstive n' vulnerable - her music n her dad's values - Its not a bhasan, its her identity at stake. She's not being holier than thou. She's being mean becuz she mistakenly thinks he's hurt her to the very core of her. Remember this is girl who had to wait at Punj mansion at the beginning with HP, the one who had to fight to get her wronged sister outta jail, the one who had to take job at PM against her own wishes. She knows that there is a monetary gulf between them. So, she has experienced first hand that money can be misused and it goes to the core of her values to think even for a moment that he's used his money or influence for her. In sum, she's like a ghayal sherni who was licking her supposed wounds when he had the misfortune to come along. Becuz she loves him and thinks he's author of that pain - she attacks and goes for the jugular.
By now u guys r going shut up Anjana - N' I am going u have other work to do n' its 2:19am,, so bear with me.
- Thanda (Matronly) Hug - Pple please get glasses. - that was not a hug. An described it was a silent thank u - that's interesting, but I disagree with u all. It was a lend me your shoulder moment. It was Arohi's now that I know I can trust u, let me lean on u for a moment my love becuz I have had a stressful day n its not over yet. He has such good shoulders - admit it u would want to lean on it too if u were his gf. 😳 Punji (becuz) he's inexperienced (what I would this boy if I ever got my hands on it....focus focus Anjana ... sorry) Ahem. Right becuz he's inexperienced he didn't quite take advantage of her leaning on him. A more experienced Punji wouldn't have been so stiff - he would have rubbed her back and held her tighter. So, she was leaning on him and he was the one hugging her. It was not I repeat not a two sided actual hug.
Other random comments n' issues:
1. Why Badimaa there and not Arohi's family? Because Badimaa is Arohi's confidant, her raazdar. Because Badimaa is her inspiration. The rest her watching the telecast from home. Seating at such events is no doubt limited and so she probably had to choose. Also aren't the rest busy with the wedding??
2. The mystery of the magic apple that never seems to finish? If u look carefully when Aro pulls the Apple n Dress out of the bag, she actually hands Arjun two apples. They were actually sharing two not one apple - that's right they were sharing eventhough they didn't have to because there were two apples one for each. Punji is really into sharing germs with Arohi (1) drink at party (2)coffee, and now (3) apple. Anu, add hygeine class to the to-do list - Just kidding I want to see more Apple type scenes infront of Nutts. Seriously, KS ka usko cheerna was PRICELESS! Yeh Aadmi definitely akal waali scene stealer hai... I will now move to the dil stealer part of my KS description. Anu - Why Apple - Its a sharable fruit - Hard to share bananas or oranges as intimately & not to mention the Adam n' Eve reference (noted by first Arjun when observing her with Sids and then Natasha referenced Adam n' Eve as well) Guessing Bt writer's probably hung up on the reference not the fruit.
3. KS -He kept clapping after Aro's song until Nutts revived him. I will simply quote two of his memorable lines "Mazak mai saach baat bol dehta hu or saach bathko mazak mai le lehta hu" "Mein apple kya bageecha share kar saktha hoon" Unlike Sallu akal ke Ballu, I can add n' 2 + 2 = 4. This guy is going to fall for Aro -its starting....But, he's a genuine good guy (at least so far) n' will definitely take care of Arohi while Arjun's in jail. And he will love her..., but ultimately respect that love enough to know she will never be his
4. Tent dress - Arjun told Salil to make it colorful/cheerful - Sallu has hearing issues - I expected more of him...I know he is a dodo and I shouldn't. But, I had truly hoped for a bigger and more loud n' colorful tent. N' so of course Sallu lived down to my expectations of him. But, WOW Mr. Punj - Mr. No Experience, showed his smarts today. He didn't fall for the "Honey, how do I look?" trap that most men fall for. U know the expression - U had me at Hello, Well Punji today had me a " "Tum Aise hi achi lagth ho" . hmmmm😍😍 Ahem, sorry where was I? Anjana - wake up - right - Punji ko yeh (pink n' blue dress Q achi lagi - Yeh, Arjun ka dream outfit hai Arohi ke liye. na. Now DELIVERY OF THE DRESS - simple explanation pple. It happened like this - Salil packed and left it on Arjun's bed, Arjun didn't open it - just had a lackey or Dhonds deliver it to Arohi M'am.
5. Precap - Is this the "Ek Pal"? Some part of me hopes so n some part of fears so. I am not ready - can I press snooze because I don't want to wake up from the KMH dreamland?
