What would have been helpful

When hostages were held the police or commandos in helicopters should have used like a big ,mega phone and tell the terrriost of what they would need to do. (this might have been harmful at same time)

I thought you know if the commandos talk to the hostages released instead of letting them go and ask those hostages about where the militants took them before releasing them or where they were before being released....
