Note that

1. Continuum can't generate a sound on its own, it recieves a sound source through MIDI
2. It is possible to play the sound on both X and Y axis

3. This has a velocity key effect, more the merrier effect
4. This can be used to play shrutis of raagas.

whats a shruti?

Shruti is micro note in simple word. This is the smallest interval between the tuning system in North Indian classical. Therfore it is different from 12 note precribed in western scale.

I haven't listened to all of Delhi 6's soundtrack. I listened to Masakalli, and although they lyrics are odd, I find the song quite catchy and upbeat. But perhaps that the immature-lack-of-musical-knowledge person speaking in me.

Thank you for your in-depth analysis. I came across these Youtube videos, and wanted to share with you. It contains ARR's "Top 20" Hindi song collection, of course these are based on someone's personal opinion, and we could definitely add/delete some based on our preferences, but its a good collection of songs.

I agree, ARR excels in the softer, melodious songs, but I'm glad he hasn't fallen into Pritam's tracks ... can't stand all that Neeraj Sridhar-type music!

Here are the videos, watch them if and when you have time:

ARR Top 20 Songs- Part Two

This is the one thumri (or Khayal) being attempted by Shreya in this film. Listen to taan and sargam after 2 minutes, it would melt even stones. It leaves me very sad to realise that we dont'have any successor for them. I read ARR heard this song 4 years ago for the first time and wanted to fit this Jodha Akbar, in the film Sonam sings this song in Indian Idol audition, I think this is a better use.

Thanks to one manager of HMV who recorded BGA Khan saab (out of way and with tremendous effort), else we would have had nothing to cherish about him
