Sab ko Vaisakhi ki Lak Wadhiyaan!😊

Vaisakhi also known as baisakhi is one of the most significant holidays in
Sikh calendar, commemorating the establishment of the Khalsa in 1699. Vaisakhi is celebrated by the Khalsa as their birthday every year, the day corresponding to the event when they were created by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. It usually falls on April 13, and on April 14 th once every thirty-six years, however it has now been agreed for Vaisakhi to always fall on the 14th of April.
To mark the celebrations, devotees, irrespective of their religion, throng at gurdwaras, the Sikh place of worship. The celebrations start early as devotees, with flowers and offerings in their hands, proceed towards the gurdwaras and temples before dawn. Processions through towns are also common. Vaisakhi is the day on which the Khalsa (The Pure Ones) was born and Sikhs were given a clear identity and a code of conduct to live by.

The event was led by the last living Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who baptised the first Sikhs using sweet nectar called Amrit. Around the world at Vaisakhi time, Sikhs and Punjabis reflect on the values taught to them by their Gurus and celebrate the birth of the Khalsa!

Celebrations (Religious N Non-religious)
Also Vaisakhi, has been the time when farmers have put their sickles to harvest and collected the precious life saving crops. In the countryside, during this time, the fragrance of the harvest is ubiquitous with scenes of many large piles of grains in one corner of the field; the stacks of wheat stalks ready as fodder for the cattle in another and the general urgency and excitement of the hustle and bustle of transporting and selling of the farm commodity by the farmers.

The religious remembrance mixed with the remnant of the harvest festivals of Punjab combine to make this an exciting and particularly festive time for all. Celebrations of many different type take place - many in many large cities both in the west and in India; lots of Langars will be held in many Gurdwaras ; and holy Paaths will also be undertaken where the sacred verses of Sri Guru Granth Sahib will be recited. With these religious events on the one hand will be combined Bhangra dancing, Vaisakhi Dinner and dance function and partying!
