which singer will most likely be a LEGEND

I feel it will be kavita or shankar mahadevan, although i like alka and udit the most.
didnt include sanu because i HAD to put shankar mahadevan here! and i could remove the others😊

I am going w/ Shankar because of his versatility though I like Sonu, Udit, Alka & Kavita as well

I don't think anyone is going to become a legend.
Because now a days we simply have tooo many singers, and none of them are doing super good.

In olden days there were only few singers who sang for most of the films so they became very popular like Rafi. But now a days they have new singers in every other film. So there is way more competition.

Noone is going to become a legend!

And Shankar?
When was his last song?
To become a legend you need to be popular not only good at it!
And I don't think he has that many songs in his pocket!

hee hee there were plenty of singers in rafi and kishores time 😉 beleive you me, they were so awesome that they had to actually ask md's to give songs to other singers 😛

here definitely number of ppl getting work is more , but the top spots are still less.

example:
old era: rafi,kishore,lata,asha,sharada,suman,manna, talat, mukesh,amit,mohd aziz,anwar,mahendra kapoor,shailendra,narendra chanchal,hemant kumar,geeta dutt,poornima,alka too,anuradha.

new era also plenty...

Oh if there were 100 singers at that time, bow there are over 1000 I guess😆.

But the top spots in this era were in the nineties and the early 2000's like sonu, alka, udit, sanu, and others whom I don't know.

But now no one has the top spots, I think everyone is very much equal.
Like singers can now just become famous now a song or two.

I think the directors now are always looking for fresh voices, so that's we have so many new singers in the industry.

the top guys are kk, shaan,sonu,mohit,kunal,shreya,sunidhi,kailash,sukhi. the rest are all languishers.. almost the same as in the old era.. difference is that the sufi and western genre have turned up otherwise there wont be no mohit,kunal,sunidhi,kailash and sukhi leaving us with the similar number i guess.

These "fresh voices" will come and go, but the ones i listed above are here to stay for a long time. shilpa rao,tulsi kumar etc wont be famous for a long time... one thing i agree with u is that the reign will be shorter.. but theres 1 more thing to consider.. we CAN'T predict the future so there's always a chance that someone thinks of kavita or shreya as legend.. probably noone thought rafi,lata,kishore,etc would be legends... only difference is that they are more talented than the current bunch. thing is many have grown up listening to the new songs so in some 10 20 yrs they might be considered legends even tho they werent as good.you may not agree with what i just said, butremember that u have the "grown up with the 1990's + new guys" pt of view while i have the "grown up with nothing but have seen all singers and judged them fairly" pt of view.. im not going to say that kl saigal was ebtter than udit just coz hes older, but i wont say sanu is better than lata.
