Again....This is Indian Drama,Not an American Soap So,I think what they've shown was perfectly Ok in Indian standards..

That is precisely my point ............that it is not a ' norm' that this thing happened. Yes , i agree with u fully that it is India .........traditional , orthodox India ...........not America or Britain. It is India , where still living out at night by girls is frowned down upon .
But frowned down upon when ? When it is , as u rightly said , a norm . And why villages , it is still frowned down upon even in cities . Indian parents dont like , as a rule , their daughters partying late into the night at discotheques or pubs , when proposals come for marraiges , character of city girl is still judged by these kind of things if the girl is leading such a lifestyle , as a norm . Then imagine , if this attitude still persists in cities , how much it will be criticised in villages if a girl goes out every night , or roams around with a boyfriend khulleaam and goes for overnight picnics or sumthing .
But Jhanvi is not having a well publicised affair . Infact , she isnt linked to any boy . She is not going out everynight . She has been stranded due to difficulties . And whether it is city or village , why wud people jump to conclusion that oh she didnt come home for once in the night , of course she has slept with the man ?Whether it is villagers or city people they will first enquire about what happened ...........why will they gather in a crowd and hurl abuses in a robot like way as they constantly show in serials and profess that these r the Indian standards ? Indians r traditional , yes , but r they stupid , without common sense ? Cannot they judge that this is not a norm ........but a once in a time thing ?R they , as Rainabow said , barbarians who run after ladies with swords ?
Do such incidents , seriously happen as regular occurences in villages ? In my entire life , whenever I stayed in villages I never saw them without common sense and there was nothing barbaric about them . They were loving , sensible , caring people . I am not glorifying them , but i do think we shud give them the credit of basic common sense . I have not lived in villages in all states of India , only some , but I never ever saw them as stupid individuals. If a girl has a torrid affair in a village and is stranded with the boy yes they will gossip , but they wont gossip about Jhanvi's situation . They wont gossip if a woman is a village doctor and has to stay overnite at hospital as part of job, away from her home . They may send some villager to accompany her everynite to hospital or sumthing , but they wont jump to conclusion ki she is sleeping with male doctors in hospital , or even the wardboys and peons. They do have common sense u know . And even if they do gossip aout a girl who is having an affair and who has been stranded overnite with the same guy , they will gossip first at home , then among acquaintances , not in this robot like crowd mentality that is shown .
Just see the insult to woman in this . Will give example , ok .
1] Woman has been stranded in police curfew and has taken shelter in a suburban police station .
Conclusion : Of course she has slept with the police havaldar who was on duty .
2] Woman has a job as a doctor in village hospital : Of course she is sleping with the wardboy on duty there . She just cant keep her hands to herself .
3] Woman 's car has broken down and she is stranded with her driver . [ Not industrialist like Nikhil......a poor driver ] ..............of course she has slept with the driver in back of her car .
Just see how ridiculous this sounds and this kind of stupid thought process is shown as Indian mentality in serials and my objection is to that . Dont insult Indians , creatives , they have common sense , ur scriptwriters don't have them .😆
Btw about the one night stands and US..........thats an entirely diffrent issue . I am an Indian who loves purely Indian soaps , and still I object to this rubbish they show as Indian mentality .
These r not the Indian standards.

Sadly, GKLB is recycling the same story just using different characters every time - the story is always focussed on degrading women.

Kajri, who is a kothewali, had a fancy baby shower in which not a single person labelled her as a kothewali or insulted her for having a child out of wedlock...but Laxmi was pushed & shoved for being pregnant with Karan's child while married to Rohan...the creatives have their morals/ideals etc totally reversed...I accept this is a work of fiction but hadd kar di yaar...some of it should be some what believable...

Yes it is so irritating isnt it ? Just look at Niyatis hurried bay shower , Laxmi's baby shower ..............and see Kajri's grand one . They never show normal moments with the leads , only the villains get the cream . Frnkly , I simply hate it when someone gives up money so easily , as if they dont know the value of it . Money is a commodity that enables u to help ur loved ones ...........so it is precious . But the dumbo Garodia daughters treat it like dirt and sign away shares etc as if its kachra and then lament on their fate .
