Kumkum's Akash revealed

Viewers hooked on to the daily afternoon soap Kumkum — Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan (Star Plus) may be wondering who mystery man Akash Patel is.

Well you can heave a sigh of relief, as the suspense will be over next week and Akash Patel's identity will finally be revealed.

Playing this character is the suave Gautam Chaturvedi (Gaurav in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii).

"It's a great build-up and a surprise for all the Kahaani… addicts who will see me in a different persona. My character in Kumkum was initially referred to as Shekhar, the one who has this discreet affair with Sukanya (Alka Kaushik).

"Although my character had this villainish shade to him, he will have a positive transformation and atone for his wicked deeds.

There is a shocking tragic twist in the later episodes which I can't divulge at this stage," says Chaturvedi, refuting the buzz that he is opting out of Kahaani…

"Yes, there were rumours that I had quit Kahaani when my character was not visible, but I am very much on. I have been doing episodic serials like Raat Hone Ko Hai on SaharaOne where I played a detective," he adds.
