Azhagana Raakshassy is a family drama that is woven with various emotions of nature that takes us through a rollercoaster ride in the everyday struggle of living our lives
Shakthi is a fun filled, bubbly 20-year-old girl who lives in a beautiful village near Kumbakonam that showoff with the green fields and beautiful waterfalls. She is a beautiful, intelligent girl but slightly unattractive because of her huge spectacles and braces on her teeth. She views the world through her big rose colored spectacles. Everything looks pink and beautiful in her life. For her, life is fun and a game – to be enjoyed to the fullest. Nothing can ever go wrong in Shakthi's world because she just won't let it.
Shakthi gets a job offer in one of the most happening radio stations in Chennai and she very happily takes it up and at once wins claps of appreciation of many in her office.
One day she meets charming handsome Kishore who falls head over heels in love with her. At first Shakthi stays very hesitant but as she slowly starts to fall in love with him the horrendous truth strikes her. Kishore's mother Shivagami an aristocrat by birth is bed ridden and is counting her last few days and Kishore is only after his mothers Will and Property. Unfortunately for Kishore his mother's condition for writing the will to him is such that he has to change his playboy attitude and get married immediately. Kishore's plan was to get married to Shakthi and get the property and as soon as Shivagami dies he plans to ditch Shakthi and continue with his so called fun filled play boy bachelor life.
Shakthi is completely bewildered hearing this but after meeting Kishore's mother in person she builds a liking for his mother and willing to sacrifice her entire life for such an adoring woman she knowingly falls in to the trap of Kishore by marrying him, taking it a challenge to make life difficult for him and teaching him a lesson.
After her marriage with Kishore, Shakthi creates a scene in front of Kishore telling him that his mother's health is weakening day by day while the actual truth is, that she is slowly recovering Shivagami back to normal again. Kishore is astonished seeing his mother's recovery and is furious as his entire scheme of marrying Shakthi to get his mothers property after her death is all gone for a toss. Not wanting to take it as a failure Kishore challenges Shakthi to throw her out of the house, poison his mother to death and to win the property. The battle of life between them continues with various twists and turns as Shakthi bravely and strongly faces the challenge with none other than, her own husband Kishore.

The title song both the audio and visual has been carefully thought about and shot equivalent to a film song for the first time on Tamil small screen and is sure to touch the hearts of many and will definitely leave the people humming the tune of it for while.
