Abhay Deol bonds with Ayesha co-star and buddy, Sonam Kapoor

Meet B-Town's new 'just friends'. Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol. The duo have been spending quality time together over the last few weeks. Even though it is early to predict where this friendship is going, sources reveal the two revel in each other's company.

A source says, "Abhay's birthday was on Sunday (March 15) but he held a bash only on Monday and that too, for his non-filmi friends at a friend's place. Sonam was the first to arrive and the last to leave in the wee hours of Tuesday. As there was no one from Bollywood, the duo were completely relaxed and did not mind being spotted together."

Incidentally, Abhay was also one of the few personal guests Sonam invited for the Delhi-6 New York premiere last month. The actor was in NY at the time, doing a welding course.

Co-stars too!

The source further adds, "Their dosti will now turn professional as well. The two feature in Ayesha, based on novelist Jane Austen's Emma. The film is an Anil Kapoor (Sonam's dad) production. Apparently, Sonam had recommended Abhay's name for the role of one of the leads in this three-hero project. She has always liked Abhay's choice of movies. Ayesha might well be Abhay's first dig at a commercial movie."

But a source close to Abhay maintains, "As they are doing a film together, they are simply meeting for Ayesha's script reading. There's nothing more to it."

Abhay and Sonam remained unavailable for comment.

Abhay Deol is one of the most UNDERRATED actor. He is good.

This one is a joke! They are doing a movie together so must be hanging out now more...hence they have to be linked. Nothing here. Abhay was at D6 because he is his Sonam's next co-star. It only makes sense he would be there to see her movie since he lives in NYC!!! Isn't that normal?

Rem last time Imran and Ranbir were doing a movie when they were simply rehearsing for filmfare.

Anyways publicity for Ayesha has begun I guess. 🥱

Sonam kept her word. She is dating a non-actor.
