Small screen heartthrob Hussain Kuwajerwala's dreams of making it big in Bollywood will have to put on hold indefinitely. Currently having no TV shows in hand, it has been said that even the film which he had signed on for has been scrapped.
A source says, "Hussain was signed by this newly launched production house called Enarr. Muzamil Ibrahim and Ruslaan Mumtaz were also cast in the movie. The production house was making the film in association with B4U. Yesteryear's actor Vivek Mushran was going to direct. However, because of the recession, producers have decided to scrap the project."
When contacted, a disappointed Hussain confirms that there has been no progress with his film, saying, "The film has been delayed. However, I don't know the reason behind it. My producer can answer this question. I was really looking forward it. Everything that was required to start shooting was ready but then they told us that it has been postponed. It was a good role and I was happy with my character. In fact, I was excited about it. I just pray that it will start soon."
When asked if he had considered exploring other options, career-wise, the actor says, "Definitely, I want to try a few more options. Let's see what comes my way. I have not signed anything new as of now."
With more than 10 years in the television industry, the scrapped movie was set to be Hussain's debut film. Hussain's show Kumkum went off-air last week. Before that, he was hosting Indian Idol 4. Meanwhile, Vivek Mushran, whose claim to fame was the movie Saudagar (1991), was last seen in the film Kisna.
