THE dropouts

Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (STAR Plus) From being number 4 in the last list to being nowhere in the Top 10 now means that the modern-day fairytale of a young prince who falls in love with a maid working in the palace has gone horribly wrong.

Kasamh Se (Zee TV) It went off air last week, but even before that the three-year-old saas-bahu saga had run out of steam. Will best be remembered for giving Bollywood Prachi Desai.

Nach Baliye 4 (STAR Plus) The celebrity dance show is currently off air, after a successful season 4.

Indian Idol 4 (Sony) The popular reality singing show has just come to an end. Season 5 starts in mid-2009.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (Zee TV) Currently off air after the finale in January, this Zee TV biggie is sure to be back in the Top 10 whenever it is on air.

I don't really care where it is in the TRP ratings as long as the plot remains strong and the essence of the story is not lost for the true die-hard fans.
We may rant, we may curse...but we always come back (even to watch the not so great epis!!)

We may not care about TRPs but we should.
A show's TRP is what gives it sellability. Whilst Star is trying hard to stay ahead in the TRP race with Colors, it has been trimming shows that aren't delivering - Sangam, Baa Bahu Baby, all the K shows - how many shows have been taken off air in the last month or so?
The creatives need to pay heed to this...TRPs may not be the be-all and end-all for us viewers but they will signal whether or not there is a show there for us to watch.

I think if they get rid of that irritating rajkumari nandini whole bla bla bla... then the trps will go really high.. and get back to the original storyline of Badi ma and the whole choti rani trying to be the queen and all... and with Rudra Bhoomi doing their goofups, it was funny to watch, now it's just irritating...

nisha .. I have to agree with u on this ... I do agree with others in the fact that I don't need RKAB to fight for the highest spot on TRP ... but comsidering the fact that star plus is cancelling most shows that are not doin well the creatives need to buck up ...
For all those who are wondering star plus have taken off air
* kumkum
* quite a lot of ekta serials like kasam se

or changed slots & there are rumors of cancelling

Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna

creatives should make n effort ....

n most fans have no choice in the say when the tv channel decides to scrap the serial

There are many people who still feels that it is number one show like me. It got competition with Balika Vadhu. so may be viewers divided in these shows. But creatives should do something to get more viewers.

hmm i am worried abou tthe trps
but then i dnt know about popularity....RKAB was nowehere in the top 10 list when they extended its showing to Fridays, and in they article the producers said it was because the show is doing very well.
what we have to remember is a hugggeee number of us r from abroad and watch it online too whereas if we were in india it would be doing better without a doubt...
there must be something that they are doing right for the show to be aired on fridays too, especially in the current economic climate....
