Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has decided not to celebrate the festival of colors as a mark of respect to the victims of the November 26 terror attacks here.
The festival of Holi which was once celebrated with great pomp in the Bachchan house will be given a miss this year after the terror attack, the actor said in his blog.
Bachchan, whose song Rang Barse... from the movie Silsila still enthralls Holi revelers, said giving the festival a miss, in respect to the victims of the terror attacks, was the right thing to do.
That joyous spirit has been dampened by the atrocities that our city faced on 26/11 last year. In its wake somewhere inside us there is a reluctance to involve ourselves in any kind of exhibition, he said.
According to the blog, Holi was one festival the Bachchan family enjoyed liberally with the gates of their house open to all and the celebrations lasting till late in the evening from morning.
We have not done that for several years due to first my father's passing away and then my mother's passing away, the actor wrote.
