Harry Potter decreases child injuries

Doctors at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford recently conducted a very interesting study where they discovered that on Harry Potter book release weekends, only 36 children needed hospital treatment as a result of dangerous games compared with an average of 67 children on other weekends. The researchers looked at the weekends of Saturday, 21st June, 2003 and Saturday, 16th July this year - the respective release dates of OOTP and HBP.

"It may.. be hypothesised that there is a place for a committee of safety conscious, talented writers who could produce high quality books for the purpose of injury prevention," they wrote in the British Medical Journal.

The researches did note that more interest in reading could prompt an increase in childhood obesity.

Thanks to Katie and Ai for sending this in!

Totally agree, there are other things that need to be taken care of and are way more important than HP.
