It is old news now that director Vishal Bharadwaj the maker of 'Makdee' and 'Maqbool' is bringing the famous play 'Othello' on screen. 'Maqbool' was the Shakespeare adaptation of 'Macbeth' and this is the second time he is attempting to transform another literary work to the screen.

Vishal is inclined to title the film as 'Omkara' after the name of the lead character of the film. He feels that the tentative title will be more apt. Omkara signifies power and the holiness, and the film is somewhat on the similar line. However the producer of the film is more interested in naming it as 'O Saathi Re'.

Ruling out the probability of the commercial title, Vishal confirms that the film will go ahead with the name of 'Omkara' as it suits it best and also sounds unconventional. The film will start shooting soon in the interiors of Maharashtra with the lead pair Ajay Devgana and Kareena Kapoor.
