Formerly known as Karan from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the most adarsh beta of the small screen, Hiten Tejwani adds another candle to his birthday cake tomorrow. And despite having made no plans, the actor hopes to take the day off for a spontaneous celebration.
"I am here in Mumbai and that's about it. I have no plans. Most probably, I won't be shooting and will spend time with my family. But nothing has been decided as yet. I feel these things are usually very impromptu," says Hiten.
The actor says that he has no special way to celebrate his birthday every year. He adds, "I don't do anything in particular. I celebrate it with my family and friends. That is probably what is going to happen this year too."
Tejwani is a religious person but will not be going to the temple for blessings on his birthday. He says, "I am religious but I don't believe in doing puja every morning or going to the temple on a particular day. I as it is visit a temple, no special day is fixed."
Hiten's most memorable birthday was five years ago. "All my birthdays have been memorable but the most special one was when Gauri and I just started seeing each other. It was on my birthday when we actually exchanged rings."
And what gifts is the star is expecting? "I am not expecting any gifts," he says, adding that he has not even asked his wife Gauri for anything.
Ask about his most memorable gift and the actor says, "All gifts are good and memorable in their own special way. I've kept all of them carefully as they mean a lot to me. I don't believe in comparing one with another, they are all special in their own way."
After graduating in commerce, Hiten Tejwani came to Mumbai where he started his acting career. He debuted in the telly world with Ghar ek Mandir (Sony TV) followed by Kabhie Sautan Kabhie Saheli and Kahin Kisi Roz (Star Plus). He got his big break through Kutumb (Sony TV) and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus), which fetched him many awards. Hiten has also done a few Bollywood movies such as Krishna Cottage, Anwar and Jogger's Park.
