Juhi's Another Old Show - YEH JEEVAN HAI

Yeh Jeevan Hai is the story of the residents of Seawoods Complex, A housing colony where several families live. The story revolves around ordinary people with ordinary lives and ordinary problems which somehow always have ordinary solutions! It is the story of people who live together first as neighbours, then friends and gradually start considering each other family. Each character is different and has his/her own quirks and idiosyncrasies, yet each one is recognisable as people we are all familiar with in our daily lives.

There is the quintessentially average Nilesh Mehta who is constantly worrying whether about being a better father to his children or a better son to his senile father or just getting a raise and a promotion in his office. But his wife Rasika, played by Smita Hai, sharp tongued as ever with her feet planted firmly on the ground always manages to nip in the bud his flights of fancy and underneath her sharp exterior and their constant bickering, there is a strong bond of love and companionship. Their two teenaged children are the smart mouthed products of the new generation.

There is the young couple, Ankush and Shreya Sadana. Ankush is the man driven by his desire to make money and the fear that he may not make enough. His business is what motivates him and also gives him sleepless nights. His wife on the other hand, dreamy eyed and romantic is still not used to the fact that a birthday or anniversary is less important for her husband than that very important business meeting or business trip.

There is also Nafisa, a single woman with a good career. Played by Sakshi Tanwar. Nafisa's experiences of people around her have made her wary of marriage and relationships. Her best friend in the complex is Saloni, the sweet helpful girl next door. Saloni, played by Juhi Parmar is the one who baby-sits when parents have to go out, she's the didi the younger boys in the society confide their crushes to, she's the one who takes grandfather out for his evening walk because his own family is too busy. Behind all this however is a lonely girl who is always trying to belong and be part of a family since she lost her own parents in an accident.

These and many other characters form the lively, dynamic environment of Seawoods Complex where nothing is ever boring, where each day brings with it new desires, new hopes, new problems, new solutions and where each person brings a different perspective to any situation or problem. The complex with its many buildings, its beautifully landscaped gardens and its clubhouse is the center of all the action in Yeh Jeevan Hai.
