Rang De Basanti has a strong message |
'Rang De Basanti' has in the lead Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor and Siddartha comprising the male cast and British actress Alice Patten and Soha Ali Khan in the female leads. The plot moves on with the story of the four young guys and the British girl. The director and the unit of the film are all tight lipped about the story of the film. The only details provided are that the film is not a mere college campus tale about friends, relations but also has a strong message attached to it. It throws light on the Indian culture, custom, rituals and its significance in the modern times. It intends to bring back the youth of India who are somewhere misleaded by the western influence, to its grass root. Highlighting the Indian significance in the film, the shooting for the film has taken place in Golden Temple of Amritsar, green luster fields, traditional fairs, horse races, village festivals and so on. The film is shot in several places in Punjab, as it is heard that Alice plays a documentary filmmaker who is interested in making a documentary on the life of Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. So Aamir and his friends escort her to the land of Punjab and help her in the cause. In the process they travel around and discover things that are not urban, the things that they've never seen before, the things they thought never existed. 'Rang De Basanti' is a much awaited film of Aamir Khan and will hit the marquee at the initials of 2006. |
