Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been in one controversy after another with respect to his film Billu.
First the barbers were angry with the use of the word 'barber' in the film. The actor dropped the word because he didn't want any controversy. However certain members of the public tried to cause a disruption in the special screening of Billu at Gaiety last evening. This was then followed by an attack on the superstar's home Mannat in suburban Mumbai.
It is believed that these attacks were in retaliation to lyrics in a song in Billu. But Khan says he will have none of it and adds that this is yet another way of the miscreants trying to get themselves some publicity.
"These are just people who want to garner some publicity for themselves. They have no cause or reason to really behave like this. Throwing moltov? petrol and soda water kind of bombs?all they are doing is creating a bad name for their organization and our own people of the state and country," said the actor in connection to bottles filled with kerosene being thrown at around 2 am on Friday morning at Mannat.
Speaking about the song that is believed to have upset people, SRK explains, "The song very clearly says Rab Ke Hazoor 'MEIN' Kasmein Bhi Kha Leen' (not rab ke hazoor 'NE') which means have sworn in front of God? duniya ki aoni boni?also done the worldy duties? but haven't found a girl like you, etc. The words do not connotate anything to do with our respected Prophet at all."
The goes on to say that those who are questioning his sentiments need to hear the song in its entirety first.
"My message to these people is to please do not make an issue where none exists and spoil innocent lives and their weekend by completely uncalled for reaction. At least hear the song first properly before thinking they know better than film makers like me? who are absolutely dedicated to making sure no sentiments are ever hurt by our work."
