Poonam with son, Aryaveer
Nach Baliye finalist Poonam Narula Goyal was in for a pleasant shock when she saw a brand new Honda City ZX awaiting her after their performance last Thursday.
With no regrets about losing the coveted jodi award the actress is excited about zooming in her new car gifted by husband Manish Goyal. When quizzed about the gesture, Manish says, "I had decided to gift Poonam the car the moment we made it to the top five jodis."
The version we heard was that he bought the car to pull wifey out of depression on being second best. But Manish denies that, "It has nothing to do with cheering her up. We are glad about the appreciation we earned from the judges."
My wife's reaction
Thrilled with her present, Poonam tells us, "I'm glad that Manish gifted me the car because he usually prefers pampering himself. However, I'm yet to find out what prompted him to do so. I told Manish he should've gotten me a solitaire instead. To which he replied, 'solitaires look good only when you are traveling in a luxury car.' Now that the car is here, I'm going to remind him about the solitaires every single day."
The couple has just concluded their daylong rituals for the car including a puja at the temple, when we talked to them.

Talking about her driving skills, Poonam says, "I love cars and I prefer driving myself. Even during the final stages of my pregnancy I would drive myself around. In fact, I have been a crazy driver right from my teenage days when I never had a license. I would never pay heed to the elders warning me all the time."
Business plans
Life's not the same after the popular dance show, adds the couple. Says Poonam, "We were stressed for time during Nach Baliye and felt no less than Tatas, Birlas and Ambanis. There's a kind of vacuum as there are no professional commitments now. Manish has resumed his shooting and I'm looking for something where I don't have to play a mother of grown-ups as in Kkussum."
Apart from taking care of one-year-old son Aryaveer, Poonam will soon turn entrepreneur. However, the actress refuses to divulge the details, "It's too early to reveal my business plans. Give me two months and you can see it for yourself."
