was watching this on the news and read about more than 150 people have died in various parts of australia due to these bush fires some were started naturally whilst others were started with arson to think there are sick people oout there that would do this. on the news they reported how a man hu was in flames himself carried his child in his arms and was screaming, "somone save my baby...i've lost my wife but and i dnt knw what is going to happen to me but save my baby." i just hope and pray that everyone in australia that has lost someone has the courage to pull through this. my prayers are with them

Its sick to think that some a****** deliberately set fires when he knew that the emergency services were already struggling to curb the bush fires...the people killed, the damage done and homes and livelyhood lost...hope he burns in hell.

Hope they are able to control it all soon. Some people are totally inhuman to heap on more misery at such a time. My prayers are with the injured and the families of those who died in this tragedy. I truly feel like killing the arsons with my bare hands. Hope both father and child are safe.

Wonder what goes on in the mind of these sick people - are they just dumb or evil?

It is truly sick that people don't have anything better to do than start fires. It takes a twisted mind to do something so vile and disgusting.

I pray for the victims....Australia is a beautiful country with wonderful people....like India and US, it will overcome this disaster...

We are all shocked and saddened with the loss of life and devastation caused by the bushfire. People have lost their loved ones, their houses and some of the communities are completely destroyed.
Everybody is trying their bit to help the victims, may be the Victorian government, the Red Cross and various NGO's. The universities, the football clubs, students, literally everybody is doing their bit to help the victims. The only other thing that we can do is pray for them.
The firefighters are still fighting to control the fire in some areas. One of the proffessor from my department lost her house though she survived along with her daughter. The way she described her experience is bone chilling.
Though it would take time to come to a conclusion whether it was a natural calamity or not. Police say they are closing in on arsonists believed responsible for the disaster in three major areas.
