I seen the messages about the apparent disrespect to the god about my sexy god comment.

I think you may have blown my initial comment out of proportion as I think it is a bit correct to the literature as it is known than Krishnaji was do taken back by his beauty when he looked at the floor and seen his reflection. Now ramji is another incarnation of Shri Vishnu and perhaps the same happened then, maybe Ramji was as beautiful as Krishnaji is to be (as ramji was about before krishnaji), maybe this was the reaction that happened AT THE TIME with Ramji.

I'm not disrespecting god in any ways, I am rather looking at the possibility of how charming Ram must be as a person in both looks and in his honour. Who knows maybe Ramji himself caused the same reaction as well 😃

I am enjoying watching an adaptation of Ramayan and the recent Gurmania made me think about the reactions of the women at the time. Have women changed from Ramji's day to ours? it is something to ponder over or it even makes the message even more worthy. But Vishnuji can be deemed to be the female energy of the absolute and Shivaji was the male energy so who knows, maybe the more recent incarnations of Vishnuji DID make girls go all lightheaded and things as we know with Mohini. That was the angle I was looking at.

As you can read, maybe God was "sexy" and this was the reaction of the day but it doesn't take away the respect for Ramji, it shows the context of how moral and just he was and perhaps helps us to understand his message more.

The text about krishnaji:

His personal form is so attractive that it is considered the reservoir of all beauty. In fact, all beautiful things emanate from Him. His form is so attractive that it directs one's attention away from all other objects. Those same objects then seem devoid of attractiveness after seeing Lord Krishna. Thus, He attracts the minds of all people. His words also captivated the minds of all who remembered them. Even seeing His footsteps, people were attracted. Thus, Krishna spreads His glories which are sung everywhere throughout the universe in the most sublime and essential Vedic verses. Lord Krishna says that by hearing and chanting about His glorious pastimes, the conditioned souls within this world could cross the ocean of ignorance. (Bhag.11.1.7)

What was disrespectful about your comment was the word 'sexy'. If you had used another word in place of that, it may not have provoked people as it did. The word 'sexy' itself is a disrespectful word, because it conveys a vulgur meaning. When talkinfg about God, you should not use the word 'sexy', because it does offend people. Calling God 'beautiful' or other dignified words is different, but it was more your usage of the word 'sexy' that disturbed people than your post itself.
'Sex' or 'Sexy' are words which should never be used in the same context when talking about God, ever.

I agree with Lalitha, gurmeetisgod. When talking about Gurmeet and gurmania, the situation is different. We are talking about an actor not the religious character. When talking about Ramji, it's quite different. Although many people feel Gurmeet is Ramji, in reality he is a wonderful actor doing a fantabulous job as Ramji!😊 So many teasings go on about Gurmeet and how handsome he is, etc, we have to maintain that difference between him and Shri Ram!

Well said Mallika Didi.😊
Gurmeet is doing a wonderful portrayal of Shri Ram, but in the end, he is only Gurmeet Choudhary, a young actor who has a promising future, not an avatar of Lord Vishnu. (Although in reality, we all are forms of God.😉) That distinction must be kept, or else, Gurmeet may be stuck in the Ram image as Arun Govil was many years ago. That's really detremental to his TV career. In the future, people should not get carried away if he ever acts in a villain role or something, because that's how one' s acting skills develop.

Well sorry I used another word, I'll use delightful then.

You have to remember that I live overseas and we use different wordings. Sexy in our context means possibly the closest to the text I mentioned above about Krishna and it is said that Mohini did drive men wild which is what the word sexy indicates.

If you think I am being offensive, then I am not, it is hard to try and describe what I mean as if I said "God looks good enough to eat" that IS disrespectful. How can you say Vishnu is VERY VERY VERY good looking? sexy sadly is the word I could think of which could mention about his beauty and the whole message of him.

adj. sexier, sexiest
  1. Arousing or tending to arouse sexual desire or interest.
  2. Slang Highly appealing or interesting; attractive: "The recruiting brochures are getting sexier" (Jack R. Wentworth).
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sexy

See the difference in the languages, I am not meaning disrespect to him, but, the bolded is the meaning I had intended for it.

Half the people in this forum live overseas. I myself live in the US, not in India. When talking about God, just stick to Indian words if you do not know what kind of Western words to use, but please do not use the word sexy again.

I was trying to say but unsuccessfully that maybe what we are seeing is something akin to what was said in the original scriptures, I was looking at it in the context of mania in general, what if Ram had something similar (I mean Ram NOT Gurmeet the actor) when Ram was about?

Perhaps it would greater understand the importance of the message, as mentioned about if you look at the goodness of the god you look at him and nothing else. I was looking at Ram (not Gurmeet) being so noble that it is hard not to ignore and perhaps Ram had an army of followers. Who knows this may be history repeating itself as when watching things you see the beauty of Vishnuji, you don't want to look at anything else do you?

I know this may be an unpopular view but for truly understanding what the message is, we have to look both at the scriptures and "out the box" which why I was questioning the whole issue and it appears to be a no go zone.
