It's a beautiful house; with all the white marble it looks nothing less than a Taj Mahal. Aur kyon nahin Dr. Rahul Khanna, a famous neurosurgeon built this house as a gift for his very lovely wife Dr. Trisha Khanna who is a renowned gyneacologist.
Rahul and Trisha went to the same medical college, shared common interests and soon enough fell for each others charm - they were the most popular couple of the college, deeply in love and enjoying every moment of life. Love and happiness came easily to them. The most romantic day of the year, the Valentine's Day was a perfect occasion to take their relationship to a new level - following all hindu traditions Rahul and Trisha got married. Being doctors, they led a busy life but always valued the time spent with each other, so romance was always in the air when the two were together. On their first marriage anniversary, while Trisha surprised Rahul with a self choregraphed and well rehearsed sexy dance performance, Rahul took her out to a very fancy restaurant for a romantic candle light dinner. It was a full moon night so after dinner Rahul decided to take Trisha for a long drive by the side of the beach. They had known each other for over 4 years now and had just completed one year of blissful marriage, however, they were still idiotically in love with each other - the love was boundless - true romantics at heart. Rahul carefully watched the moon rise as he drove. He then stopped the car and asked Trisha if she will allow him to blindfold her for a moment. She was confused but amusingly agreed. Rahul drove a little more and then stopped again, he opened the car door and helped Trisha step out, he very carefully removed her blindfold and asked her to open her eyes. Wow! what she saw was out of this world thing - it was heaven or heavenly - she was stupified by the sheer beauty of this extremely beautiful house that stood in front of her. White marble of the house shone in the light of full moon. This was Rahul's gift to Trisha on their first marriage anniversary. Trisha had no words to express her feelings at that moment....she just cried and screamed and jumped and hugged Rahul....she was ecstatic and Rahul loved to see her like that...............They still live in the same house - very happy and content with their lives!
Their second and third marriage anniversaries were awesome too - their love bond was strong as ever but the two had started to miss something in life. They were missing a baby. Being a gyneacologist Trisha had understood and accepted the fact that she cannot be a mother due to certain deficiencies in herself as well as Rahul. As it happens with most of us, we turn to God at the time of distress so did Rahul and Trisha. They decided to adopt a child but had apprehensions so started to visit a temple regularly in search for better wisdom and strength in making this decision. On one such trip to temple, Trisha almost stumbled upon something on the steps. Rahul was quick to grab her and they had a filmi eye-lock moment which was broken by a very sweet sounding murmur of a baby. Rahul and Trisha looked down - there was this very cute adorable baby with sweet round rosy cheeks. Baby smiled at them and then smiled again...raised his arms towards Rahul and Trisha as if asking them to pick him up and hold him. It was like magical moment, nobody was speaking, it appeared as if everything in the world came to a halt except for this baby's angelic smile - it was a euphoric moment for Rahul and Trisha. When they both bent down at the same time to pick the baby, they realized that God had answered their prayers. Rahul picked up the baby and gave it to Trisha. They had tears in their eyes and the baby continued to giggle and smile. They brought back the baby to home, did all legal paper work to become proud parents of an adorable baby boy - they called him 'Abhay (fearless)'.
Rahul, Trisha and Abhay had immense pride and admiration for each other. With such beautiful parents around, Abhay grew up to be a very sincere and intelligent kid. He was also very handsome, heartthrob of all the girls in the college. He had this supercool group of friends who would always hang out together and have lots of fun -play pranks on each other and chill out at college canteen or ride their bikes to nearby dhabas for a hearty meal. Since Rahul and Trisha were both doctors, it was quite natural to see Abhay's inclination towards medical sciences - he wanted to be a neurosurgeon too, just like his dad. Rahul and Trish were satisfied with Abhay's career choice and also with his performance in first 3 years of MBBS. During those warm moments, when Rahul and Trisha would sit together for a cup of coffee on the porch of their beautful house and watch the sun-set on the ocean, they would remember the day in temple when they found baby Abhi smiling at them and so much willing to be part of their lovely family like a perfect gift from God. In all these years, this moment had become the most cherished memory of their lives.
It was a sunny day, very bright as if full of hope and life. It had become sort of a tradition, so on this day too, Trisha kissed Abhay on his forehead and Abhay hurriedly but lovingly kissed her back on the cheek and screamed - I love you mom and dad as he quickly kick-started his bike to rush to the college. He was running late today for his favorite neurosciences class. He zoomed through the busy roads on 'Babes' (that is what he called his bike!). Since he woke up, Abhay had this song playing in his head - "Zindagi ek safar hai suhana, yahan kal kya ho kisne jana". 'What a lovely song', he thought to himself and wham!! something hit him from behind and Abhay fell off from the bike on to the road. Everything went hazy at that moment as if the world had come to a halt. Just then the back door of the black BMW opened and Jai Walia got down and rushed towards Abhay. Jai looked very concerned when he held Abhay's bleeding head in his lap. He immediately called emergency services and asked for an ambulance. Jai tried to talk to Abhay who layed unconcious on the road profusely bleeding from his head. Luckily, hospital was nearby and ambulance arrived soon.
In the hospital, Abhay was taken immediately to the emergency room. Jai felt very guilty as his driver lost balance while trying to prevent hitting a rickshaw and ended up hitting Abhay's bike. Jai stood outside the emergency room waiting to hear back from the doctors. With shaky hands, he managed to operate his cell phone and called Bani. He told her every detail of what happened that morning. Bani was almost in tears to hear that - her heart went out for Abhay and she promised Jai that she will pray for the his life. Bani had a room in Walia Mansion which had an idol of Goddess Durga and another idol of Ganesh ji too - this was her own temple where she did prayers every morning. Feeling very uneasy, Bani rushed to her temple. To her surprise she found that flame of oil lamp she had lit in the morning was withering. She put her hands around the flame and prayed to God to take care of Abhay.
Doctors in the hospital were quick in recongnizing that the kid was none other than Abhay, son of famous phsycians, Rahul and Trisha who were then informed of their son's accident. Rahul and Trisha were still at home when they got this news and couldn't believe what they heard. Trisha almost fainted but Rahul gave her support and tried to gather some courage for both of them. They were both in tears, they prayed to God to save their son and asked the driver to drive them to the hospital. The memories of moment in the temple when baby Abhay first smiled at them flashed through their minds. They sat holding each others hands and Rahul tried to comfort Trisha as she cried and cried.
Back at the hospital, doctor told Jai that Abhay needs blood and his parents are still on their way to the hospital, so they'll have to search for his exact blood group in the blood bank and he is not sure if they have enought time for all that. Jai was prompt and asked for Abhay's blood group. Doctor was surprised as well as thrilled to know that Jai's blood group matched with Abhay's. Preparations were made quickly and soon enough Jai was lying on the hospital bed giving his blood to Abhay. Rahul and Trisha reached the hospital. They rushed to the emergency room. Jai was sitting outside and he stood up as soon as he saw Rahul and Trisha. He almost cried when he apologized to them about his driver's fault. Before anybody could speak any further, doctor came out of the emergency room and interferred. Everybdoy turned to him with hope as well as fear but the doctor had a smile on his face and informed them that Abhay is out of danger now and should be concious in an hour. The doctor also thanked Jai for bringing Abhay to the hospital in time and donating his blood to save Abhay's life. In a totally filmi style, doctor added - "In a way Jai has given second birth to Abhay".
Rahul and Trisha were too glad and relieved to know that their beloved son was out of danger. Trisha was so emotional at that time that she hugged Jai tight and thanked him for all he did to save Abhay's life. Rahul wasn't bitter too against Jai. He shook hands with Jai when Jai sighed out of pain in his arm due to drawing of blood. All three of them shared a smiling moment and waited for Abhay to gain conciousness.
While Rahul and Trisha thanked the God in a small temple in the hospital, Bani got a call from Jai and thanked her God for listening to her prayers once again. She asked Jai, if he is alright and Jai told her that he is fine and should be back home soon. Bani insisted that her heart is telling her to drive down to the hospital and make a visit to Abhay. Jai agreed.
Bani was very happy to meet Trisha. She hugged her with compassion and they both cried while Jai and Rahul smiled at them. It was surprising how the four of them understood each other and felt so close at the first meeting itself. Wonder what bonded them but whatever it was, it felt good and pious. A very happy nurse came running and told them that Abhay has come to senses and they can visit him in the room. Rahul and Trisha looked at Jai and Bani, breathed heavily and walk towards the room. JB waited outside. They wanted to give all the privacy and space to RT when they meet Abhay.
Inside the room, Abhay gave the same smile he did the first time to RT and stretched his arms towards RT asking for a hug. RT were mesmerized and with teary eyes they kissed Abhay on his bandaged forehead. Abhay said, "I love you mom and dad". RT said, "We love you too son, more than anything else in this world. We are sorry we let this happen to you today. Nothing of this will happen again. You are our Jaan son...........". Abhay realized the gravity of situation and just to cool things down, he enquired about his Babe.
The doctor called RT to have a little chat with them to discuss more about Abhay's condition and the approximate time for discharge from the hospital. Before they left the room, RT introduced Abhay to JB. Jai apologized to Abhay but Abhay interferred and said, "Uncle, please don't say that, it was my fault too, I was speeding! In fact I am thankful to you for saving my life. I have your blood in me, we are now related and I already feel a special bonding with you". He then turned to Bani who was very affectionately listening to Abhay while holding his hand and said, "Jai uncle and Bani aunty, I will always hold you both very close to my heart and will do my best to value the life I have got because of you two. You will have a special place in my heart and life, next to my mom and dad". Bani smiled and as she bent down to kiss Abhay's forehead, her eyes got caught by a pendant in Abhay's neck. As if the moment froze right there!! Bani was petrified. Her eyes overflowed with tears and she did nothing. Jai and Abhay couldn't understand what was happening to her. In an attempt to break the ice, Abhay gave a peck on Bani's cheek which then brought Bani back to the world. She fervently kissed Abhay's forehead and ran out of the room. Jai and Abhay were a little surprised but they tried to understand and smiled at each other. Jai told Abhay that Bani is a very emotional and senistive person and she is not able to see you lying sick here so get well soon son....we'll come visit you everyday in the hospital but once you are out of here, you gotta come with your mom and dad to our house. Abhay nodded and Jai left to look for Bani.

He held Bani tightly and asked her again, "What is it Bani? what are you trying to say? Please speak, you are scaring me! God!! Bani, please talk to me!!!". Bani held Jai's face in her hands and looked into his eyes and said, "Abhay is our Atharva!!!!!"
