Why Ram born on naumi thithi
I was watching a movie on Sri chaitanya mahaprabhu who explained a very interesting reason why Sri Ram born on 9th( naumi ) and sri krishn born on 8th ( ashtami ). sri chaitanya ji said there is reason for everything on earth. then one of his desiple asked him what was the reason of birth of sri Ram and Sri krishn on their repective dates. Sri chaitanya mahabrabhu replied: To know this we have to understand 9 and 8. For this this great man went to bord and start explaining as this

9 * 1= 9[9+0=9]
9 * 2= 18 [ 1+8=9]
9 * 3= 27[ 2+7=9]
9 * 4= 36[ 3+6=9]
9 * 5= 45[ 4+5=9]
9 * 6= 54[ 5+4=9 ]
9 * 7=63[ 6+3=9]
9 * 8=72[ 7+2=9]
9 * 9=81[ 8+1=9]
9 * 10=90[ 9+0=9]

So like this we get 9 only. This is a symbolism of MARYADAPUROSHOTAM and nothing could take him away from his maryada. whatever happens ( here whatever nos being multiplied) the rusult is only the same, never leaving path of maryada ( here never leaving nine )

The number '9' has been reverred as the Lord's number. The addition of all the single digits of a number (18 - - 1+8 = 9) is called the Digital Root. The speciality of this number '9' is that no matter what number is added to it it will give back the same number. (For example, 9 + 1 = 10 - - D.R = 1, 9 +5 = 14 - - D.R. = 5 and so on. Give it a try with any number, you'd get back to original digital root of the number.)
Hence, to find the Digital Root of any number, the 9s can just be eliminated and the rest can be taken for addition. This is the very basic technique in Vedic Mathematics to find the Digital Roots of a number. Digital Roots have been very useful for fast calculations and more importantly to check the tedious and long calculations easily. This has been followed in India since ages and ages ago.

I am guessing again . . .
Maybe because the eighth avtaar of Lord Vishnu decided to be born as the eighth son on an Ashtami?
Also, Sri Krishna came to earth to show us the path of life - how a person should (and should not) live.
Our ancestors have always said that there are eight stages in the life of a human being.
There may be more patterns (of eight) in the whole epic. Either I don't recall them or I have not spotted them.
